This last week I did a shoot, but I only had the normal ColorChecker Passport, but even that made it a lot easier to make everything match up. Will definitely get the video version (the large ones).

I just bought one of these to use with the BMPCC 6K Pro. Nice to see you are using my shoot35 CINEfocus on your rig there (I'm the designer from shoot35) :)

Please never edit your voice to sound stereo, it never sounds good, especially wearing a headset.

So confused which one to get. Got the Large non-Pocket version, hope I took the right call. I guess you would need both and depending on the situation (and as demonstrated, depending on the shot- wide vs telephoto) as the intent has to have the card to acquire most part of the frame.

The Z-Rite Color Checker is one of the best items I've ever bought for video work. I get beautiful colors even on consumer cameras like the Sony ZV-1: kzitem.info/news/bejne/zJV5nIappIx6h5g. The greyscale chart can be used to "figure out" a log curve and make your own Rec709-like LUT. A simple hue vs hue and hue vs sat adjustment in Davinci Resolve can go a long way to matching different cameras. This thing has so many uses :)

I'm not sure why the auto color correction in davinci resolve works terribly when using the Passport Video cards. i end up having to grade manually anyway...sent an email to support and never heard back.

+David David Unless you are using a Raw format in which you can adjust white balance in post. For video, as the WB is baked in the video, you should set the correct WB before you start the role. Photographers have it easy as they can adjust the WB in post. The software will allow you to make WB adjustments in post but that would not be tru WB adjustment and you will lose information and quality. Hope this helps

Raw is definately the most flexible way to go but 10 or 12 bit files are open to CC and grading in post.

You guys should do a video when you are using the color checker during a shoot and explain how you set exposure and color in camera. These videos are so useless to watch.

You would sell far more of them by not selling them and using the video to show exactly how every aspect of it works. This is quite a lazy sales video.
