I feel you to the fullest for speaking your truth. I'm a Gen-x'er too (that struggles with my inner spirit). I've been on my government job for almost 30 years & sometimes I think that I've suppressed my creative dreams. I try to drown it out, but my guilty consciousness gets the best of me a lot. I'm proud of this young generation who used this job as a tool to invest in their dreams (then quit). I saw a lot of them do that during" "the pandemic." It motivated me, and I pray that it's not too late for me. But, I appreciate you speaking your truth & I wish you the best.

Hey beautiful!! I'm so glad you experienced that trip to Dallas by yourself!! It opened you up to so many possibilities!! Our only limits are the ones we put on ourselves. I agree with you. Life is about exploration!! As Gen X, I was fired a month ago for speaking the truth. Turns out it was the best thing that could of happened for me. They say the truth will set you free, and in my case it did literally...lol😊. I can laugh at it now, because I feel so free from the rat race, and different personalities. I'm enjoying this journey with you. Love seeing your growth. Like that saying goes, "your life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change." Change looks great on you!!💐🦋

I turned 50 last Sunday and I literally spent it at WORK! I worked a 10 hour shift on my birthday, and to make myself feel better I bought myself a gift off of Amazon, smh. I feel just like you friend, I am EXHAUSTED, I want to be walk away but I am my sole provider and my job is my only income source. I want to retire and actually live my life fully. I am glad you are speaking so freely I want to restart my KZitem channel but I am too damn tired after being out of my house 12 hours to do anything! Don’t work on your 50th birthday like me, do something amazing!

girl, welcome to the club. I turned 50 in September and I started perimenopause at the top of the year. It's either been the beginning of a mid life crisis or a spiritual awakening. I don't know. But I'm too tired to fight against whatever it is. I've been in my corporate capacity for the past 24 years and I've worked since I was 15. Today I gave my resignation letter. I'm beat. I plan to take a few days to just sit on the porch and stare. @Regina.Michelle I've said it before, you're on to something here.

I'm 41 and feel the same. I have taken Ubers on trips though. I intentionally plan spa getaway girl's trips every years etc. Most recently, I did the girl's trip by myself due to things happening with the other girls. I didn't let it get me too down. I felt sad and confused, then converted the weekend trip into a full day spa by myself. LOVED IT. Visiting Texas is on my list. Was waiting to have company but looks like I'll have to just go ahead and book it for myself. Great vid.

Thanks for sharing, Regina. You definitely have to be intentional about exploring & experiencing new things. I have a list of small & big things. One small thing is to do day or weekend trips to cities & towns within my state that I've never visited. I learned to do things alone years ago because if you wait on others, it never happens. I take a yearly beach trip all by myself. I ❤ it. I haven't used uber or lyft either but did download the app recently because my car was questionable 😊.

I guess a positive outcome of instability & toxic family was I left home @ 17 & joined the army got to go overseas & I also have lived & travelled a bit through the west coast states/PNW but more IMPORTANTLY I have lived among/experienced many cultures throughout my whole life. ( I could do a whole TED talk on what "geographical culture" is the most unkind and my substantiated theory as to why) 3. I have lived in this AREA 20 years, longer then I have lived ANYWHERE & I have lived in this TOWN for 12 years, longest time I have lived in one town since I was 12 yo. I have been reflecting about "seasons" as you mentioned before. I read somewhere when you age you return to your core, and here I am returning to the same joys I had as a child. So this is my season for ROOTS. 4. I FORCED myself to enter "online/apps/tech: I lost my visual ability to create intricate detailed art AND I do not want to be stuck in my ways &that I dependent upon others to do things for me when it comes to tech in 2044. It’s a blessing that you are aware that you can implement change to improve your life. I’m a millennial, and I was stuck in the 9-5 mindset for a while, but I knew there was so much more to life. I left the 9-5 corporate job 9 years ago, it was scary but the best decision I’ve ever made. It was not always roses, but I’m grateful for the freedom I have because of what I’ve built. And what’s so interesting, I met a new group of friends who are also entrepreneurs, which made the process more enjoyable. Lastly, last year I created a list of things that make me happy, and I make sure that I do those things often. Be encouraged. I’m proud of you, some people will leave this world without ever choosing to change.

Although I work a 9-5 job, I have had the entrepreneurial mindset since I was a teen (I’m over 40). I admire the new generation but I recognize that we did not have the internet as a teen & the vast amount of opportunities they have. I do not choose to complain or compare myself about my job though, as it is the thief of JOY. Instead I focus on the now, on what I control, creating the new life I wish to experience as the solution. My goal is to travel alone. I have mustered the courage to take myself out to dinner, movies alone but not traveling. Continue to go after the things you want. May GOD continue to bless you.

I rarely have time for myself or time to go anywhere by myself. When I get a chance, Sis, I enjoy it to the fullest. Working for your pension is a good thing because when you retire, you won't have to worry about, surviving, but as you have stated, you will start taking time to explore - take time to do that. I've never taken an Uber, I would honestly be scared to do it.🤫 All the best to you in your journey, Regina. 😘
