That line “You were always, more than what other people saw”. Was such a PERFECT line to sum up all the reviews of the old games saying “He’s just an angry guy”

I was so not expecting this in the DLC and it was awesome! You're so right Jon, we change as time goes on regardless and I'm so glad we all got the privilege to experience what GOW had to offer us and I'll revisit it anytime. 'We will make our own destiny,' 'FOR VANAHIEM,' 'Loki will go, but Atreus remains' and so much more lovable quotes!! Love your review Jon!

Kratos has always been a complex character. The main reason people misjudge him is because his revenge arc lasted so long but look at his moments in the past when he wasnt seeking revenge.After killing are ares in GOW he tries to kill himself,after getting revenge on the gods in GOW 3 he gave hope back to the world and once again tried to kill himself.Hes never coveted power and if he couldnt have death he at least wanted peace.

@@Don10451 Wrong, that's pure misrepresentation on what actually happened in the first God Of War. Did you even play the first game or paid attention? "It was always about revenge" no it fucking wasn't, if Kratos only wanted revenge then why the hell would he attempt to jump off a cliff and say that the gods have abandoned him? Kratos's main motivation to serving the gods was NOT to attempt killing Ares because at that time he was a mere mortal manipulated by a god which has previously saved Kratos's life because HE offered his life to Ares's servitude, and then later caused him to murder his family. It is precisely that last part that motivates Kratos to serve the gods: to get rid of the nightmares that haunted him; reliving the moment where he brutally murders his wife and child in his own sleep, all because of HIS mistakes. Let's not forget that the whole reason why the entire franchise happens is because Kratos became too fucking ambitious and so power-hungry (all "in the name of the glory of Sparta") that he could not accept defeat, so why would he try to avenge his family and go after Ares when Kratos knows very well that the reason why his family is dead... is mainly because of HIMSELF? LISTEN to what Kratos asks when ATHENA is the one to put the idea of killing Ares in his mind: "And if I am able to do this, to kill a god... then the visions... they will end?" He's not lusting for Ares's blood, he's DESPERATE to find any solution that will bring his mind at peace, killing Ares is just an extra, AND EVEN THEN he wasn't vengeful when he confronted Ares in the end, in fact he was IRONIC, or did you forget the whole dialogue between Kratos and Ares? The whole revenge against Olympus and the gods didn't come up until the second game where Zeus destroyed his homeland Sparta, then the rest of the anthology before 3 like 'Ghost of Sparta' gave more context to his bitterness towards the gods. So PLEASE, for the love of the gods, STOP this bullshit in saying the first game was 'all about revenge'.

@MrSuperstargamer 1:What's wrong with you? 2:RELAX and 3 My comment was a broad statement that you read too much into.Ive played GOW more than once you really didn't need to write an essay about it.
@MrSuperstargamer

@@Don10451 Calling you out for straight up lying or missing the entire damn point of the story of the first game is not "reading too much into it". Saying "God of War 1 was all about revenge" is not just "broad", it's straight up FALSE, and I just explained the reasons why. And stop saying "ya didn't need to write an essay" because it makes you sound like you're whining about the response being too long and being too lazy to read it.

This is a very good review, congrats! I love this DLC, however I still couldn't beat the 4th Tyr boss fight. I think it's too hard compared to the other bosses, or previous Tyr fights, even in the easiest difficulty. My problem is, to practice it, I have to go again through all the rooms and beat everyone to meet him again, which takes a lot of time. I know, it's the rogue-like genre.

Valhalla embodies a concept I’ve heard all my life is, if not wrong, then undesirable. It’s never too late to be better. Plenty of people would casually declare that there are those who are unforgivable, and thus shouldn’t be given a chance to change. And it’s a gamble. There are those who have no interest in being better. But how much good has been lost condemning evil?

Valhalla is the DLC I always wanted for Kratos because as a God you have a responsibility in what you do with your power. Power can however corrupt you and leave you stray. This whole journey is about self reflecting on your journey and Tyr's involvement through out it all is beautiful one God of War teaching another. Kratos looks up to Tyr and I sort of believe Tyr is stronger but isn't fighting Kratos to best him but to just help him. When Kratos finally took the throne he is ready to lead the world into rebuilding the world into a kinder warmer place.
