“Why Governments Fail the Poor” by Dr. Neeraj Hatekar is a ride into the world of tribals living in a land rich in natural resources in the Gadchiroli District of Maharashtra, India. It is an eye-opening tale of the impossibility of uplifting these tribals from poverty due to deadlock brought by idealistic and ineffective public policies.
