grow up in Western countries to get their best education, then work super hard or earn as much money as you can in Singapore bc of their great work ethic and life system ... and finally, get old in Indonesia (Bali) to have a perfect peaceful life (mentally and spritually) - just build a small business like restaurant or hotel for monthly income - or at least to have something to do - while the rest ... enjoying life 🤗 There's a phrase in Indonesia about perfect life : "being happy since kid, feeling excited when young, getting rich when old, and going to heaven when die" 😁👍

Whenever seeing foreigners said they love Indonesia, and praise Indonesia or Bali are mostly because they live luxury lifestyle for the cheapest price here. So, I wonder are there among them who live as struggle as Indonesian's middle or low class, but still love Indonesia either way?
@mzjoe2705
9 сағат бұрын
This guy certainly shows the Bali side from the expat privileged perspective. As an average Indonesian middle class you struggle by your own, as you are too rich so you don't get government aid, and you are too poor to afford any luxury. For the poor, people says as long people can eat and relax, majority people here is pretty content with their life. Sadly it's also how the government get away with most of things here. They simply keep them well fed. But I would say that Indonesia is indeed a good place to live as it does not have major war problem and have stable economy. You rarely see a large population of Indonesian out of their country (except maybe Netherland) because we like to chill in our island.

Westerners do really enjoy countries like indonesia due to their cheaper costs for everything. I believe this gentleman would have landed paying at least four times for his living cost like fooding , clothing , rent , transport , kids education etc in Australia. Also with so many restrictions in australia, he must be enjoying Bali with abundance of freedom . Even the people of indonesia are so simple , peace loving and friendly compared to any Western country people

Everytime I visit SE Asia, I feel the same thing. People are simple. And if you get tired of simple life in countryside like Bali, SE Asian countries have some modern cities too, eg Jakarta, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur. I think that's one of the reasons why SE Asia have been fascinating people.

this comment might not be related to this video about an "expat" im not hating anyone or criticizing anyone....just sharing an observation of reality...of the foreigners i have met in SEA. this also has to be because in indonesia every "bule" is treated like a celebrity. southeast asian people still place every "bule" high on a pedestal. so every bule of course feels more honored respected famous which is an ego boost and confidence to the individual that makes them feels more special than if they are back i ntheir native country..because they are treated better...this will be a largely different case if its a non-bule asian personm going to a western country. you can see this phenomena easily just by bule youtubers visiting asian south east asian countries are very popular.... there was a youtube comment sometime ago that I will always remember ...goes something like " if youre white you are an expat... if non-white youre an immigrant " that really shows racial hierachy is unfortunately still entrenched in peoples mind all over the world in this modern age . the colonial mindset unfortunately still persists in the 21st century especially in developing countries such as Indonesia.

Yeah they do have amazing gratitude, but i hope that doesn't come at there cost of the indonesian peoples progressions of raising there own bar. .That means being greatfull ,but saying enough is enough ,we want more ,but never forget the amount of people in that country over 200mill, Australia 26mill , that is mind boggling when you think about it and the ramifications
