The celebration of every form of sexual depravity today, which we were told would never happen, is now a reality. This has occurred because many people do not believe in any form of judgment after this life. They do not believe in a day of judgment, nor do they believe in a God to whom they will answer. This belief allows them to live as they wish, thinking there are no eternal consequences.
To adopt this mindset, one must deny the resurrection of Jesus Christ. If Jesus rose from the dead, everything changes. The empty grave confirms the truth of the prophecies and the fact that God has spoken. It signifies that there will be judgment, as indicated in Acts 17:31, where God appointed a day of judgment and provided evidence by raising Jesus from the dead. The resurrection demands accountability and alters how nations should conduct themselves, our laws, and our view on scientific advancements.
In a secular world, power is seen as the ultimate good, justifying pursuits like developing super soldiers immune to radiation. However, in a world where the tomb is empty, an enthroned Savior will judge nations that seek to destroy mankind. This belief informs our ethics, including the avoidance of meddling with our DNA or merging our bodies with technology to access the web mentally.
Christian ethics, rooted in the resurrection, stand on the foundation of the empty tomb. This truth should not be proclaimed just once a year. Christians meet on the Lord’s Day because that is when Jesus rose from the dead, celebrating the resurrection all year round. The resurrection is not merely a significant event like the flood or the destruction of Jericho; it is the central act of the Christian faith. Without it, there is no Christianity.
Scripture reveals that the Father raised Jesus, the Spirit raised Jesus, and Jesus himself had the authority to take his life back. This triune act underscores the resurrection's significance, which is the foundation of the Christian faith.
