I am not scratch at all but many of the guys I play with are. One thing I noticed in the trend is not many of them had 3 woods. they had a strong 4 wood. One would think that a 3 wood would hid farther than a 4 wood. in a perfect world that may be true especially those with higher swing speeds. the 4 wood turned down to a 16o hits almost as far and is money off the fairway on longer holes. I finally made the the change and I am seeing the difference. I kept my 4 wood at 17.5o and crush it off the T and fairway. and the most interesting part is the make up of the scratch players bags I looked at looked more like a mid handicapper bag. more forgiving irons and the longer irons replaced with mostly perimeter weighing irons. they also went away from the stronger lofted iron sets as the higher swing speed players really did not need them and instead used traditional lofts which meant they did not need as many wedges.

Interesting points, thanks for sharing. For me, the better I got, the more I realised how important distance control is with your irons. Makes a world of difference knowing what yardages you feel comfortable playing with

Can i suggest a video? How easy it is for a high handicapper to beat a single figure handicapper

Good idea, may be we can film it together? Ultimately, it’s about eliminating any unforced errors and making the low handicapper do all the work. If you have a shot a hole, take advantage of the par 3s, avoid doubles, aim for 12 bogeys in a round with a shot a hole is pretty difficult to beat

Consistency with every shot will reduce your scoring but that is so difficult Got back from 6:19 Florida two weeks ago The 3 Disney courses were excellent Scored well the last outings When we left Disney we went to the Players Tournament on Saturday What a great experience Truly a great week of golf John🏌️♂️
