Had mine for 19 years in April , still love it. Just came back from Fraser Island and the old girl kept up with everything else there.

You hit the nail on the head there - there's nothing wrong with the petrol other than being a bit thirsty. It probably going to have more power than the diesel (assuming - I haven't looked up specs), but cheaper to repair and cheaper to buy. Diesel isn't always the best choice, depending on budget and the amount of urban driving you do.

I've got the same truck basically. I don't mind the V6; it's got a lot of grunt at lower speeds but I do find it runs out of breath over 100 km/hr when hills are involved. Then again, I'm from the States and am used to having a V8 under the bonnet.

Yes I know what you mean with the power especially when I'm fully loaded, might have to supercharge it😂 Thanks for your support 👍

Nice video mate, I have a V6 Prado just the same and it has been fantastic, a very under rated vehicle for what it is.

Jeep - loved my Jeep, it hated me, money pit, nothing but trouble. Death wobble at 70mph in the fast lane in rush hour on the motorway, happened twice.......long gone now, looking at a Prado now.

I was kinda the same. I was going to purchase a jeep. i spoke to my mechanic about it he swore at me and said buy a Prado haha so i did and haven't looked back. Prado's are not rock crawlers but they are reliable.

After 18 years of owning a D4D Prado 120 series I wish I had bought the petrol. I don't think Toyota are great at making Diesel engines, especially compared to the European diesels. I had to replace the turbo and the injectors twice during this time and after 330,000km the engine is worn out and using lots of oil. The Diesel is a lot more economical on fuel, but I think all the savings have been wiped out by additional maintenance costs. The petrol would be smoother and quieter. Anyway, despite all that I am going to give it a new lease of life and rebuild the engine and give it a 3" exhaust and a tune and a new suspension and go on a more adventures without having to be precious about the appearance.
