Nice videos Ben! You are doing what I hoped to do but got waylaid by Covid. Hopefully the vaccine will be given to us all soon and the Indians will open the door to visits again. It is interesting that there are so many videos about living in Thailand, the PI, Mexico and Ecaudor and only you seem to be living in India as a expat. India is a great country to visit and I hope one day to live in. keep posting Ben! By the way, I am a former Austinite myself.

Benjamin Jenks did you know that Henry Thoreau wrote Civil disobedience and Gandhi used it effectively against the British and to get independence , years later Martin Luther King came to India and studied Gandhi's works and used it successfully for civil rights movement. Henry Thoreau was very much influenced by Upanishads and Bhagwat Gita . So if you study history carefully we come Full Circle. I have read Shantaram it is an honest book. Henry Thoreau bought you here but Shantaram was the trigger

One question through.. for a self confessed digital nomad, how come sticking to the same place for a such a long time. The place you are staying is semi-Arid which means it is not near any river delta. River deltas in south India are fertile, much greener and have a calming effect on a person. Cost of living in fertile land away from cities would probably even cheaper from the place you are living, with added advantage of abundance of fruits & vegetables. but, yes they would be a little farther away from major airports.

@kiranp5611

You need it to be more natural to have a calm effect not necessarily greener. Semi arid can also be calming, semi arid beaches are calming. Secondly Thiruvannamalai as a place is very calm and have some forests, and it's also a very famous spiritual center so may be that gives a good calming effect.

I really like when you speak. Just want to share one thing. "All who are spiritual come to India. It is a place to attain liberty. Real Liberty. India is still far away from showing off anything. Here people are still simple. India doesn't have fascinating streets or building all over the place because all these materials are to show off money and luxury. Actual life is to remove unending choices within you and from your life. I hope, you will understand the Real India."

TEMPLE ART IS NOT EROTICA A lot of them are deities They portray our ancient history and scriptural stories Infact a hindu temple isnt a place to worship/commune/exhibit art, it's the abode of the principle deity. For that matter, KAMASUTRA IS NOT EROTICA EITHER It's a practical manual for a Good Married Life(Grihasth jeevan), sexual relations for procreation are only one topic it deals with.

Are you Indian? You feel frustrated about your own people ? and you seek relevance from foreigners. May be you are brainwashed about India. This was the richest country grazed to ground by British and they mock us and we believe them and then mock ourselves. When they praise us, we feel good. Its a mess, ain't it. Why not research the history of India going back atleast 2000 years, you will find the truth and you will realize the modern India is trying its best to build its economy , confidence, the global influence as it always was. If you are Indian, I encourage you to get on with our brothers and sisters to build a stronger country and fight any form of oppression . Peace !
