This is the noisiest neighborhood I have ever been to in Seoul. The sound of delivery scooters, sewing machines, and steamers is non-stop, feeding my ears. The neighborhood is called Changsin-dong, the origins of the Korean textile industry, and although it's located near the main tourist attractions like the Dongdaemun gate or the old city wall, the neighborhood is less known to tourists. A local Dutchman, Jitse, who has lived in the Changsin for over 2 years now, is guiding me around and shows us the neighborhood's secrets. All I can say now is after walking through the neighborhood, I can respect the Korea of today so much more. Why? Go check out the video.
