Not only Kim Jong un but also the previous like Kim il sung or Kim Jong il. For me i blame on either china or Soviet union because for Soviet union, if they hadn't entered north part of korea then the communist regime wouldn't have been set up. For china, if the nationalist group kuomintang would have defeated the Chinese communist then PRC wouldn't have been founded and without help from PRC, the the UN forces would have easily defeated north Korea and if north Korea was ceased to exist then the American guy named Otto wambier would have been alive.

I visited China on a guided tour in the early 90s and that's how I felt. Sadness, prison, these are words I vividly remember. China was probably never as bad as North Korea, and the freedom it offers is very limited still, but look how far it's come. Maybe North Korea can slowly evolve as well.

Average western chauvinist thinking that people in Asia are stupid. Bro, if north Koreans were not genuinely ok with their government they would have already changed it, like it happened in eastern Europe. They even went through a famine caused by floods, the lose of the USSR as their main trading partner and economic sanctions by the US, and in those difficult times they didn't change the government. To this day their economy is damaged thanks to the sanctions, and also the US pours millions of dollars into instigating chaos against the government, if north Koreans really are not ok, they have everything on their side to overthrow the government.
