Nigeria should definitely get help from China to deal with these scammers then as AI surveillance is state of the art there.I remember watching a program about the city of the future in China (Shenzhen) and they interviewed a foreigner who was working there who illegally jay walk at a crossing, and within 30 seconds he was issued with a fine on his WeChat account! How? Well ,the cameras at the road junction recognised his face via facial recognition technology and summarily issued him the fine.Scary!

There is hope and there is exposure of the evil- doers. Back in 1984 I went to India (my grandparents country) for the first time since that generation were taken by British to an island in the South Pacific. My mom and dad died never being able to go visit thier parents land/country/ people. My husband at that time was from India but had lived overseas since he was 19 and had not been back there for over a decade. They arrested him and took me to a room by myself for questioning. They accused him of being a terrorist. That I knew wasn't true since I knew him for several years before I was married to him. I asked the top guy to put me in touch with American Embassy since I was an American citizen and had proper visa and had no reason to be detained. They didn't know I had taught myself Hindu language and understood all that they had said. The top guy at Delhi International Airport asked me why we were there so I spoke Hindi with an American accent ( lol) and told him I was keeping a promise I had made to my dead parents to visit their parents land and people. I told him how and when my grandparents and my dad who was 5- 7 yr old were snatched by British agents and put on a ship and taken to an island about 75 years ago. Yes Indians were put into slavery by the British White Royal Crown dogs! The man listened and had tears in his eyes, he told one of his workers to get 3 cups of tea and some biscuits and told told another of his assistants to get my husband. He called those who arrested us to his office and made them apologize to us and told them to be ashamed of themselves for mistreating a daughter of India and a son of India returning home for visit. He hugged me and shook hands with my husband than told one of his workers to escort us and get us a nice cab ( making sure the price was right for the 8 hour trip to his parents home) to take us home safely. I started a campaign of letter writing against corruption at Delhi Airport and the bribe system . I enlisted the help of my House Rep in Congress to bring up this issue and so forth. I wrote letters to the Editors of dozens of Newspapers across both countries. When I went back in 1994 Delhi International Airport was a changed place. Everything was clean, organized and pleasant. Even the money exchange was fast and easy. Taxis wee lined up nicely but I had a friend of the family picking me up. No looters begging for money. Wode Maya keep speaking for Africa and changes will come.

Nigerian police lack ideas. Harassing innocent people on the street for typing on a laptop? That is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. If you want to fight 419, there are smart ways of doing it. Such as setting a trap for the perpetrators, and making national example of a few of them. The others would get the message. This is pure harassment, and I believe you have a case against the police. File a complain at pcc.gov.ng/ To everyone else, if you need a lawyer and cannot afford one, talk to Legal Aid Council 090 99 88 77 00 Nigerians are too quiet. @T. Truth I'm all common sense. You, I'm not sure about. I have no idea why you're scared of police, and why you run from them. Only morons do that. Interestingly, I have been poor before. I lived in ghettos. Never had a problem with any cop. It's buffoons like you who always want a showdown with police. I was riding in a guy's car one time. We were stopped. Cops told me they were going to check me for weapons. After checking, the cop thanked me for cooperating. You idiots would have been out there calling the cops names, and creating a scene. That escalates the situation, and you end up being man-handled. Then they start shouting police brutality.

@Wayne Samuel Listen carefully Neither did i tell you an american police would arrest someone for using a laptop, am talking about any minor crime, move or action that makes police stop you(the fact that some/or most american police use unlawfull intimidation tatics is absolutely real in the US) There is something you don't get While you talk you have to understand what is called yahoo boys(Internet fraud stars) Imagine what happen to me about a year ago was sitting with one of them(he is not rely into yahoo but scam and zeus virus program preparing to look up, i saw an alert of N800,000 on his account) he tried as much as possible to get me in with the promise of 70k on every program but am a christain and i even advised him to change) Now look at that and you think the government will not take it serious?(just that government don't look inward on themself too) + some police manner of approach and bribery is bad. This people get rich overnight by just scamming people mostly foreigners(mostly white men/women). Ask anybody in this country they do that with absolute confidence. And this is affecting the image of the country. Listen ma This is my country I know alot about it He(wode maya)can never be taken to another area it will always be same spot, or some step ahead where their van is packed/where the boss is. I have operated laptop in a BRT bus in Lagos (from my start to destination) at least once in a week/2 week and have never seen the case of me or anyone gotten arrested) I have operated Laptop in a red bus(never been arrested) This are all big luxurious bus(although people are jampacked sometimes) I wish you can just see this yahoo boy when the roll out always or sometimes with latest model of Benz, Glass, Lexus, Camry, hunder and you think police will take it lightly with them police are always in watch either to arrrest them or get bribe from them. There is one trendy now call Naira Marlay He was arrested by EFCC taken to the station put in custody for some days. N2 million was demanded for his bail. and two surety a civil servant(grade 10) while second surety must have landed property. Despite the fact he paid N2million he has not been released now that's what is called arrest. Wode maya was just stopped and interrogated and was freed the only back side is the approaching police was rude(according to him very rude)

I understand your story as a Nigerian . This idea of labelling every young person that uses computer as a fraudster by the Nigerian Police is what caused the great #EndSARS protest that brought the economy of Nigeria to it's knees in October 2020. Our police need to understand that computer is used for many other great things to the advantage of a country. I personally use computers a lot because I'm a Civil Engineer, and I use computers to design engineering projects. Aside that, I'm also a web designer. So, how can someone like me do those engineering projects, and as well build websites for clients without using a computer? It's impossible.
