I know how you feel about the limitations with the Si. I also got rid of my si after doing everything besides fuel system upgrade and built block. Moved on to a CTR.

End of an era, lol. Best wishes to you bro on your new car! I will forever stick with my 18’ SI till it dies, haha. This was my first and probably my last manual car. I’m not too much of a car enthusiast so my car is completely stock still, lmao. I 100% understand your frustration with that SI of yours and why you wanted to move on, been around for most of it. Especially when you were putting on those wings around the car. Oh, the drama around that 😂 hope this car brings brings you the joy you’ve been missing out on 🙂 Happy holidays bro!

if you wanna dip back into the honda game, EG K-swap is the only way, you already have a working car (supra). yeah the Lame15B7 motor isn't making me satisfied too. I might put it back to stock and finish my older honda project. Maybe wait till type R prices go down cuz i know if it ain't K-series from honda, i'm not buying it

For a turbo car it’s nice to be able to push a larger turbos with a 3 lit motor and the fact it’s twinscroll will help transient response. From 1.5 lit 4 banger to a 3 lit 6 is gonna a big difference in getting better turbo response throughout your power band.

I completely understand your compliant about the 10th gen si. I sold my 2020 si in October and got 2022 cmary trd. Unfortunately, I refuse to spend thousands just to get 300whp. Plus driving in Northern Virginia is a nightmare with a manual transmission.

I finally have an SI and don’t plan on going crazy or above 300-350 whp, I’m willing to rebuild the engine and trans and do all the labor myself. If you were to go back and choose the order on how you went about modding your civic SI to avoid all the problems. What order would you have gone?
@PhongVLG

During the time I nodded the car, not many parts were as accessible so my experience with it was a lot of trial and error. But if I could go back and spend the same amount of money and do the same thing. I would pretty much do all preventative mods first, like upgrade the clutch, build the engine, build the transmission. Then go FBO, big turbo, e85 tune & call it! Haha

You wanted a car with more power and can handle more power. You love to modify your car. The 10th gen is a great platform but it has its limitations. The 10th gen civic is great for a first build and for power up to 300whp and I wouldn’t push it past that.

I had nothing but manufacturer reliability issues with my 17 Si. It handled my fbo e blend mods like a champ. But I had axle boots ripping, the entire front end suspension going out at 20-30k miles. Front wheel bearings, timing cover leaking and the transmission whine and I thought I’m over it. To me personally the car isn’t worth anything. If you got money, sure. But it was time to grow tf up and get on to bigger and better things. I completely switched the tables and bought me an 09 Lexus ISF with the amazing v8 and stupid fast 8 speed. That car will be a forever car. And when the GR Corolla hits the states, I will be getting that as a second vehicle.

I agree with everything you said! I had my 10th gen SI for 3 years or so and recently had to put in a built block (head gasket blew and Eman had a spare built block he was willing to sell). My goals for the car is a healthy 350whp or so, which is relatively safe, especially for a fully built block. I can’t imagine. Going over 500whp with it like how you were planning even with a built block hahaha. The 10th gen SI’s are nice cars but their 1.5L displacement is a difficult obstacle to make huge horsepower. Anywho, great to see you found a car that’ll meet your goals!
