I threw my back out yesterday so my wife thought it would be nice to have someone else change the rear tires on the van for once. Begrudgingly I agreed to let her take it in. This is what I get.
The struggle is real Brother. I had a big box store put a tire on for me about 6 years ago. Three days later I just had to check ... they left 2 of the 8 lug nuts finger tight... never again!

I am with you on this, It is darn hard to find a true professional anymore, wether mechanic ,dentist, doctor, or plumber; where has pride gone in folks now anyway.

You are absolutely right and I have the same trust issues....If you take it back you get this empty apology like they care and that just makes it worse....Best to you.....Good stuff...

Your wife should have seen that when she picked the van up and raised a fuss with the tire shop.

my store put them on using a torque wrench, but I still have to use 2 24 inch pieces of pipe to break the lugs loose....I'm with ya.

Wow!! That’s crazy, never seen something that sloppy, sorry brother!! I like to sit and slide my feet under the tires to help me get them on the pattern.

Oh hell no. I would make those idiots fix everything.. or would I? Something as simple as this would make me never want to come back for ANY reason. Do they have a corporate office so you can get a gift card for “Tire Rack” or something? If their actual owner knew what they did I hope he would be ashamed. Pretty nice of you to not throw names out there as far as tire shops are concerned.

The local tire store we do business with is really good about getting everything back together properly. Proper torque not so much. Sister's two & three got new tires on their Jeep's and I had to use a two foot cheater bar on a twenty inch breaker bar to get a few of the lug nuts broke loose. However, on the bright side, their wheels weren't going to just fall off :-)

Ehhhh, the valve stem isn't that important. I agree with you, Buffalo, rather do it myself.

Seems like the logical choice would be to speak with a manager of the place for repair AND a discount. Even if you don't feel like remedying the issue, you'll bring attention to the shoddy work and possibly help future customers.

The garage I worked at hired a young guy to do tires. First car in he just ripped off the valve stems. He didn’t last long. Almost $500 to replace all 4 TPMS sensors

Sadly, this is how it is today. I build movie sets for a living and I've seen you g kids (20 year olds) coming in that don't even know which way to turn a screw to tighten it, or operate any hand tools. I recently had to save a young kid from sawing his own fingers off with a circular saw as he held a 2x4 with his left hand right on the cut mark, saw in right hand. It is painful to watch.

I would take it back to the tire dudes and talk to the manager AFTER calling Corporate to complain and tell them you are making a video. Then film the re do including the torquing of the lug nuts.
