16:20 - Sounds like you agree with Conservatism but are disappointed by meeting regular people who call themselves Conservative. Conservatism basically means that not all change is good, so you need strong evidence to change. It means believing that human nature is fixed and dealing with that reality, rather than sacrificing people for a utopian fantasy. It means understanding that your power is limited and doing what you can, rather than thinking that everything would be perfect if only you held absolute power and dictated to everyone. Part of this is understanding that sex is real, that dex-based differences are real, and that if people have difficulty accepting the sex they are then they need to come to terms with it rather than play dress up. It's better for their mental health and society. When a man puts on a dress it's a symbol of being completely self-cetered, materialistic, and mentally not well. People respond to that on an emotional level, understanding instinctively that something is wrong with him and that he's also harming society. Not everyone has the ability to articulate the logic behind this intuition. And yes, there are right-wing conspiracy theorists who just accept everything that they are told and follow the herd. That's because people are human, and that's human nature. Critical thinking is a rare skill. That doesn't invalidate Conservatism as a world view.

Not really because I’d read everything available and come to that conclusion that it was the most correct ideology, but just because it was expected of me. I’m not gonna be defined by my Minority™ status anymore. The only people who ever normalised judging people by their skin colour, sex, age, place of birth, et cetera; were the people who were supposedly my allies. The only thing I take issue with here is your misuse of the word capitalist. That’s an economic policy and completely unrelated to one’s social views.

Just because both parties are flawed doesn't mean both parties are equal. Sociological considerations aside, if you pit economic policy against economic policy, there is significantly more (and more nuanced) logic and rationality to Biden's proposals than to Trump's. How does it benefit American business/economy to slap enormous tariffs on foreign suppliers to our industries, when we don't have the infrastructure yet to support those industries? Trump says he wants to reduce inflation, but costs will skyrocket when he forces our industries (think Boeing, Ford, etc) to import everything from raw materials to airplane parts at such inflated rates. And when he expels non-naturalized immigrants will the price of produce (who will pick it?), or meat (who will butcher it), or dinner out (who will cook, serve, and clean up after it?) decline, or even stay steady? Hardly. Will his replacement of retiring SCOTUS judges Thomas and Alito with 40-year-old originalist ideologue versions of themselves add or subtract rationality to the Supreme Court? That does not lead to four bummer years under Trump II, but rather to 40 years of judges who rule for whoever buys them the most expensive trips and shiniest toys. It's easier to rip apart "woke" social policy than to do side-by-side economic policy comparisons. You are a smart, thinking person who must surely recognize that a vote for Stein, or Kennedy, or a Libertarian write-in candidate, (or the living room couch, for that matter) is a vote for Trump. Your video brings up a lot of good points, but your equating of the two parties' flaws undercuts the strength of your statement. Whether you realize it or not, the message you convey is that it's not worth voting for Democrats. You and I can work toward a more nuanced multi-party political system only if we safeguard the democratic infrastructure that is needed to ratify it, and only one of the parties values doing that. I was an ardent Ayn Rand fan for about a year in high school. It seemed so simple and "rational." Then I grew up.
