Because Luka is an idiot - when he agreed to consolidate with Russia he actually believed the Kremlin was in reach until Putin showed up and took the opportunity away forever. Lukashenkov loathes Putin - he hadn't been "the last european dictator" for years just to become a mere govenor/puppet of _Tsar Vlad the Terrible_ treatening him like a mere watchdog. Belarus still not having commited even a single combatant despite all virtue signaling towards the Kremlin speaks volumes: Luka is too weak and economically reliant on Russia and has to cooperate to a degree, but he doesn't want to be a mere pawn either and might even hope to eventually outstay/-live _Bloody Vlady_ this way which of course is an excercise in futility because in reality his rule is long forfeit to stand and fall with the putinist regime so he could just as well fully commit in order to at least ensure the regime's survival for just long enough to not personally care about the aftermath any longer - maybe he's even delusional enough to think fate had finally granted him his long anticipated opportunity to cease the Kremlin because this pesky upstart Putin was stupid enough to saw the third leg of the broken throne he sits on for no good reason whatsoever. Belarus is a strange country in many regards weirdly enough especially for somebody familiar with Russia as well. I've been to Belarus several times, first time age 7 when I accompanied my father on a business trip in 1994 who is german but had been socialized in Russia due to already my grandfather working there and would return to study in Moscow after having graduated highschool and serve double the draft at home in the GDR in order to be allowed studying abroad, the second time I spent summer vacation with my best friend's family in kind of a summer camp as well as in Brest (second largest belarussian city) in the late 90's as well as on later occasions on the way to Moscow which is a pretty unique experience from a (for the longest time of their life) westerner's perspective - I actually don't know any other german of my generation who would have been to Belarus, not a single one which makes it a pretty privileged position to be in in light of the current conflict because for the overwhelming majority of the western audience media could report about North Korea just as well, a place this obscure that it simply has to be some weird relic of a bygone era surviving by mere historical circumstance. I wouldn't have imagined for the life of me that Russia turning full-on fascist would be the reason for it to become relevant again - and that's coming from a guy pretty biased in favour of Russia _(never towards the putinist regime though)_ who doesn't ever apply terms like this lightheartedly due to being a german sufficiently familiar and interested with political theory and their country's history. It's tragic, utterly tragic. I'm a russophile - and that's why I stand with Ukraine.

Well, that's because the US only blocks sanctioned Russians (but even they slip in all the time), and we're actually letting in tons of young (early-20s) Russians atm. I seldom use and are not fluent in French, But I tried to challenge myself. Wanted to learn French since childhood. But unfortunately my father forced me to learn German instead witch is pointless for me. Since I are and was interested in French and Italian culture. It got me to really realise how bombastically self-centred and petit bonsoir German culture is in comparison. Of course there’s exceptions but to few and to small to make a difference. Being just as paranoid as you, I've avoided commenting on your videos, until you properly made it out of Georgia, and first of all... CONGRATULATIONS FOR MAKING IT OUT, TO SAFETY!! YAHOO!! 🎉🎊🥂 Secondly, I've been watching since your Chelyabinsk days, when your intro was a section of music from your old outro, with synthwave-style palm trees scrolling towards you, and when you felt like you could swear openly, in your videos, so, watching your journey from that era, to this one, has been wild, and fun. You've come a long way! 😊 I love what you do, and I am eager to see what you do, and say, next. Thirdly, I appreciate what you're saying here, and I've learned a powerful lesson today, that--despite my passport being a good one--I would feel nervous visiting some of these countries myself, now, due to my own paranoia. Southeast Asia is the real disappointment for me, as it's a place I've always wanted to see... Especially Vietnam (I know, I have insane taste.)... 😔 At the same time, this video *does* make me feel grateful, to have the passport that I have, and I do feel empathetic for you, and for all people who are in your situation. I am so thankful, that you finally got to safety, and I hope that, despite you not being at home, that you come to have a lovely life, in Portugal, or wherever you may go, within the European Union, or anywhere else, that may be safe! I also hope--insane as it sounds--that the whole nightmarish regime in Russia changes enough, before you get too old, so that you *can* go back home, if only once, to see your family, and friends, *safely.* I know, I know! It's a crazy, and likely *impossible* hope, but hey, I'm someone who stays alive on hope, otherwise, I'd go insane, and wanna... Well, you know. You say it openly, in your videos, but I'm too paranoid, to even say it in your comments. I'm a frightened little waah-waah; I'm sure you can relate, to a degree. All the best, Roman! Lots of love, from my own little paranoid bunker. I will continue to watch, and now, I will comment more frequently, and leave "likes," more frequently. I promise~ owo

This is why I always hate airports till this day. As if travelling wasn't stressful enough, now you gotta worry about the geopolitics of each countries hates or loves. Like imagine you land on a layover in a country you never been after a long flight with your journey not being over since is a layover, then BOOM. Their customs officers arrest you even though you did nothing wrong. And the only reason they have you in custody is because they are friendly to said country you criticized God knows when on the internet or elsewhere. I know airports are the fastest places to travel to other countries, but I just cannot fathom the fact that is not very touristy friendly no matter how you put it. Especially with their corny signs like "Welcome to 'so so country'". Is bureaucratic feeling, and you won't feel relived until you step out of the airport.

There's even more about the Russian passport thing, which i faced myself. It looks like the EU has some kind of a directive that prohibits Russians, Belorussians and Iranians (and partially even Chinese) to be employed in the IT-companies that are related somehow to government... For example, the whole Telecom branch is a part of it. I faced it because, even though i was born and grew up in Europe myself, i happened to have both Swedish and Russian passports. And they basically don't care about the details of my life history so to say.... Just half of the IT-market is blocked for Russians (luckily not 100%, so i did find a job but at the cost of much effort). Literally yesterday i was on an AWS conference and was talking to a friend of mine about the discrimination i faced. Beside me there was another random serbian guy, who all of a sudden joined the dialog and told us that he is a product manager in a Telecom-related company and he can confirm that it's true and it's still like that and the situation doesn't seem to be going to change in the nearby future.

In what way IT companies are related to Governments??? lolol They are PRIVATE companies!!! And yeah, IT companies have standards.... You can't just walk in there and ask "hire me". Do you speak the native language? Do you have a degree remotely close to IT? Have you ever worked with something similar? Etcetcetc. It goes allllllllll the way down to - do you have ANY professional experience? Like have you ever worked for 2 years and stuff like that.... So yeah... "Discrimination". Natives ALSO suffer "Discrimination"!!! I can't go to an Hospital and apply to be a Surgeon. I think they would LITERALLY laugh at my face. It's called CAPITALISM and PROFESSIONALISM bro..... In order to have a successful business you have to hire the best of the best.... Not just a random foreigner that wants to make $$$
