Isn’t is bizarre how in The Bible it says only God knows the heart, yet so many well-meaning Christians will say things to you, as if THEY know your heart!? (I was one of those people! I also know how horrible it can be on the receiving end.). I can see you’re filled with love, Josh! Love to you, as well! PEACE to the wonderful spirit you are!

Are you leaving your relationship with Jesus Christ, or leaving American "Churchianity"? I really hope your reason is the latter. I have left American Churchianity (organized denominationalism) long ago, but would never dream of walking away from my personal relationship with Jesus. The main reason for such confusion in these churches is their failure to teach what the essentials are, and what they aren't. From my many years of experience, I have discovered that these church "leaders" either haven't ever truly believed in the essentials (out of lack of knowledge/lack of pursuing Scriptural truths), or understood what is truly means to be a follower of Christ, but decided not to receive His true Gospel. The road is narrow indeed my friend, and we can expect all of this confusion to abound in those who have never truly received Jesus as their only hope and Redeemer from their fallen state. God bless..... Steve I

I too left Christianity. My Godfather is a very famous evangelist that comes out on TV regularly. I was involved in a car accident, I was hit by an intoxicated driver, I had a traumatic brain injury, and a fractured spine. I died for a few minutes and what I saw was completely different from what the church told me. I still believe in a Creator, Jesus, and a Holy Spirit but I also now know in something greater and more. I live without limits now. I have never seen so many miracles and so many victories. Thank you for posting your testimony.

Who is attacking you? Only religions attack each other... Atheism is the lack of belief... The thing you think is attacking you is criticism... Because criticism is not welcome in religion... That's why you feel attacked... Let me tell you something... There are so many religions around the world... Tell me which one would you choose if you were an atheist... I know you didn't choose Christianity... All religions offer hell and heaven... So tell me why do you not choose others... It's because you have the mentality of Us vs Them... You see... Why would God allow such situations And indoctrination? Simple he Does Not Exist... If you are sure he exists why don't you prove it? Don't quote from the Bible... I don't believe in the Bible I just want to see miracles... You claim God is so powerful and created the universe from nothing right? I want to see a lightning without a cloud... Simple right? You show me that and I will believe...

Eseven, any renown historian would tell you that Jesus' existence is one of the most certain facts of human history (based on non-bible sources), look it up. The Gospel was written by Jesus' closest followers, which gives it its significance. I don't understand how you find the God described in bible to be a tyrant or a fraud in any way. I suggest you read the scriptures yourself before you come to such conclusions, as most of the "controversial" cited verses are often taken out of context. I hope and pray that you find the way of truth. God bless you.

I have moved beyond the Christianity part and I believe I'm more into the spiritual between me and God that he intended for us individually to have - call it spiritualism or a religion which I don't call it religion, but I call it my connection - it is me and God alone. I grew up in the church my mother was a field preacher. I left the religion 1 yr ago and I unconsciously was so scared to officially leave the faith. Afraid to be smitted by God. But with time it wasn’t over night I found the strength. And Well : ) I found God on the other side of that bubble. And I found me, I was more at peace, I found more love for people and for myself When I look back in my 27 years in the faith I found Non Christian to have been more helpful when I was in need, that is a fact. Christian friends simply had said “we will pray for you.” I still pray, but mostly I feel liberated and completely loved by God simply for being me and living life how I choose for life is a gift. And the last time I checked the world is round, meaning what comes around goes around, and we are all in it together. Aloha, - Leilani

Hi Josh. Just discovered you yesterday and watched your video on OBE's. Though considerably older than you, our journeys are similar. I've always been on the path to truth. I had my first self-induced OBE at the age of 12, at a time when very little information was available. While it scared the hell out of me, I learned one thing: I am more than a physical body. Years later, at the age of 15, I joined the Jesus movement of the early 70's. From there to a Pentecostal church where I spent several years. I was as evangelical, born-again, bible-believing as they come. But over time, I starting finding discrepancies and contradictions in the Bible that could not be explained, at least to MY satisfaction, from my pastor or others. The things I discovered over time led to cracks in the foundation of my belief system, eventually leading to it's total collapse. But I still continued to study. I read the books of the great apologists, but I also read the books of their opponents. Eventually I got back into learning about Astral Projection. I think I've have, or have read, every book on the subject. I took courses, online and in person, and even attended the Monroe Institute. Over the years, I've had multiple OBE's, both spontaneous and self-initiated. but I've never been able to be proficient at it, and can go years between experiences, despite rigorous effort. Nevertheless, I've had enough to convince me that we are all spiritual beings on a temporary physical journey. One of the things that led me out of Christianity was the doctrine of the 2nd coming of Christ. There is much in the media today claiming we are in the end times and Christ's return is immanent. I chuckle to myself, because I thought exactly the same way nearly 50 years ago. If you had asked me then if we would make it to the year 2000, I would have said "not a chance!" But here we are! Over the years as I studied the New Testament carefully, it became clear that virtually all of the New Testament writers expected Christ's return in their lifetime. And why wouldn't they? Jesus himself allegedly said so. "THIS generation shall not pass away before all these things are fulfilled." "Some of you standing here shall not taste death before you see the son of man coming in his kingdom." But nothing happened, and we're still here. There are only a few possibilities: Either the NT writers misunderstood Jesus, or misquoted him, or else Jesus himself was simply mistaken. We cannot know, because Jesus never wrote anything, and no one living at the time that he lived wrote anything about him either. So we have to rely on what others said that he said, written decades later by Greek-speaking Christians who almost certainly never knew Jesus personally. I could go on and on, but I'm starting to ramble LOL. We are all on a journey, as you've pointed out, and each one will be different. But "God" is so much bigger than we can ever begin to comprehend. And that is as it should be as we plough through this experience we call life. Glad I found your channel. Keep on Keeping on, brother! Peace

damn, all these christian comments pitying joshua make me sad, not the fact that he renounced his faith. Instead of critiquing him by saying "you were never a real christian. you never actually loved god then. you are fake. god have mercy on you joshua. etc etc." you have an actual conversation about theology addressing true logical points on why a person would doubt christianity. I can not believe the audacity you people have to say that he never truly was a christian or loved god. He dedicated his entire life to preaching the gospel and to serving god. IM PRETTY SURE HE LOVED GOD. That you Joshua for keeping things real, there are a lot of people like you in the same boat, and I hate all the elusive terms like "satan is just deceiving you" whenever people start thinking logically. Bless you, friend.

So glad I found your comment. Reading through the comments I was getting so sad for him, and Christianity in general. You can feel the anger and venom people are spitting in his direction. And these are the same people claiming to represent Christ. If God is pure love, to me Joshua is the one actually better representing God. The irony of it all. But big ups to him for living and speaking his truth.

Madeline Lee I am pretty sure not everyone is meaning it in a harmful way, I know in my opinion or view i feel sad for him because he has given up and renounced God when he spent some of his life preaching his word. Its just mind bogoling to me. I may not be old or experienced in life that much but i can truely say if it wasnt for God I wouldnt be here right now. This man has allowed the devil to lead him astray. We say these things to him because its fustrating to see him go down this path it hurts my heart. I want everyone to go to heaven and live in eternal peace. God is love and loves us dearly but he cannot let sin into where he resides. I dont understand why people would want to beleive in something else or nothing at all. The bible is nothing but truth what else book do you know of that has prophecies in it come to life? It also mentions that in the end of days people will covert their faiths :/ its sad that this person who was a representation has subcomb to it. I will pray for him and for you. Hell isnt meant for us it was meant for the devil.

Thank you so much for sharing your story Joshua! I was born into the Apostolic Pentecostal church and I had questions ever since I was a small child and those questions would usually be met with hostility. While growing up I dealt with major depression and severe anxiety which my mom refused to understand to the point where she would ridicule me in front of her church friends and they would gossip with one another about how “crazy” I was. I also grew up with rapture anxiety... I feared the rapture intensely. Anyway, because of how debilitating my depression was I didn’t leave home until I was 21 (which was when I knew I was okay enough to be on my own) and not being around my mother every day opened my eyes to so many things. I had a hard time believing even while living with her but I was afraid that if I asked myself or God questions then I would be damned to hell, which is what I was taught. What sealed the coffin for me was while I was at work a helicopter flew over us and it shook the whole building. My co workers were laughing about it but I was shaking with fear that the rapture had just took place and I was going to be stranded in a loom of chaos. I called my mom to see if she was still around and she said to me that I wouldn’t fear the rapture if I would just “live right.” That infuriated me. If I wasn’t indoctrinated with fear, then I wouldn’t have fear. I decided not to believe in a God that wants me to psychologically suffer. I have to say, I’ve felt free ever since.

It's amazing. You really have set me free from so much. I started out as someone who was looking for God to be my friend and to try and earn his love. I was afraid of hell, death and God himself all because of what I had heard from other people. Now you've given me a chance to really think about these things for myself. And now I realise just how ridiculous my fear was. I was worrying about something that wasn't even real. I believe that there is a creator and that were not just accidents of a random explosion but if the God is real then he, she (hope its a she) or it is a God of love. Not the believe in me or burn God which in my opinion is so obviously man made because only man could come up with something so evil. When I say "god of love" I mean a parent who will never stop loving his or her child and no matter what they've done will always do what is best for them. Proof of this kind of love is everywhere. So why can't a being who is meant to be better than us fail to have this love. Anyway I just want to say Josh that you honestly are the most down to earth guy i know. I love your videos and I'd love to meet you. Hope one day you come to UK. I cannot express how grateful I am for your videos. Thanks so much

I went through a major crisis over the last year. I went to the only place I knew of for help and that was my church. I soon realized there were no answers. I also realized I possessed no tools to help me fix my life. I left. I found God outside of church. I found that Christ is not outer, but found within. I don’t call myself a “Christian” anymore mostly because it’s associated with a western worldview I can’t subscribe to.

I appreciate what you are saying. I'm an anti-religionist myself. Saying that, it doesn't sound to me like you've left the reality of relationship with the "person" of Jesus, you've left the ideology of religianity known as christianity...an ism unto itself. So, I appreciate you saying that you've left Christianity (I believe as a religious form). But, you are still one with Who he actually is...without religious form. Leaving the dogmas of regulated form is not the same thing as walking away from Him.

If you believe in supernatural anything that you hold as your superior (Father) so to speak, you are religious. To espouse religious beliefs and then claim you are anti-religionist is truly speaking with a forked tongue. There is no evidence that holds any logical credibility that "Jesus" himself, ever existed. Certainly there was never any human that left the atmosphere of this planet in bodily form, without a space suit on. To believe a half god/half human flew out into space, and that dead people popped up from their graves in all forms of decomposition around "Jerusalem", is a form of delusion, even insanity. To be among the stubborn, who do not wish to give up their childish things, simply shows others your immaturity. It shows others your willingness to join the cement heads that care nothing about the discoveries of today if it threatens the fantasies they believe. When you become an adult, you will think as an adult, until then, your credibility among the thinkers, is squashed.

emeralds222 One does not have to be religious to believe that there is a realm of existence outside of what natural sciences have currently proven. If you choose to place your confidence in a self creating universe, more power to you. That's your prerogative. But your claim that my belief is religious is your own brand of ignorance and arrogance. Nice try, but fail.
@emeralds222

What ever happened to "Pride goeth before a fall?" or Don't sit yourself at the head of the table lest you be asked to sit at the back? Persons such as yourself, that claim I "fail" prove to me all the more that there is no such thing as a "Holy Spirit" that can influence you to behave any better than any of the rest of us. Indeed, belief in such nonsense, claimed by the pompous that mock others who question them, only prove that if by some phenomenal chance this "holy spirit" did exist, it would be a very weak force indeed if it cannot even change the pompousness of a lowly human such as yourself.
@GaryEllis

emeralds222 You made the claim that my belief that the universe did not create itself makes a person, by default, religious. That is an assertion based on ignorance of what makes a person religious. I repeat, "nice try but fail." However, I also fail because it wasn't a "nice" try. You made your claim with repeated insults. That kind of crude arrogance deserves no respect in response.

Gary Ellis You place yourself high on a pedestal, hardly what your "Jesus" taught. People can see frauds by their actions if they open their eyes just a bit. You sir, are a fraud, a liar, a false preacher, a wolf in sheep's clothing. When you pretend to know things you couldn't possible know, you either are knowingly lying or you are a legend in your own mind. There is no evidence to support your nonsense claims and you are also a bearer of false witness against those who discover how our natural world actually works.

I’m more in touch with God and love now then ever. Ive studied metaphysics for almost 40 years and left the Christian church. God, Jesus and everything he tried to teach us was pushed by the way side in church. We can no more be separated from God then a ray of light from the sun, we are made of pure energy and love is the only thing that is real. Everything else is Ego and ego is illusion, we are spirits having a human experience and so unlimited and everything is possible, I have seen it experienced it and wouldn’t change anything about it 🥰

Joshua Tongol It meant a lot to me, my brother & my Uncle, reading into history and finding out not just how twisted the religion is and how it came to our country and how Christianity, its bible, and its pastors all tried to disconnect us from our ancestry, telling us that our culture, our ancestral cultural identity, its holidays, and even Meditation is all “Demon worship” sending us to hell, but THERE RELIGION, THERE god, was all right and true, and we just need to leave our “godless, heathen, savage, Asian witchcraft” (how incredibly arrogant and just hateful and disgusting tbh). Knowing you went to Biola University, must really rustle some Christians, since you know all the apologetic tricks and arguments probably better than they do. I know a random comment doesn’t mean too much, but I just want you to know that it means a ton to see that someone out there really gets it and was strong enough to tell others like me and my own, that we weren’t alone. Stay safe during this crazy time dude.

You'll be back. I'm confident in that assertion. I've been going through the same struggle as you have been, at pretty much the same time. I've been having a crisis of faith off-and-on for the last year and a half. The past few months I'd looked into various different types of spirituality, to broaden my horizons. Finally, I wondered if I might truly be an atheist. To make a long story short though, God works in mysterious ways. I know it's an old cliché, but it's true. Over the course of the last few weeks I gradually realized that I'm not an atheist, but that my concept of God was much different than the one I grew up with. Finally, a couple nights ago, I had a moment of clarity on some issues. I truly believe that God let me see, in a moment of expanded consciousness, a glimpse of the state of the world, the nature of reality, and the struggle between the two kingdoms of light and darkness. It's unlike anything I could describe, and a multifaceted situation that's just too incomprehensible for our finite minds to totally take in. It wouldn't even do it justice to begin to explain. All I can say is... you'll be back. God will see to it. ;)

Dave/// God is. It does not matter whether you believe in God or not. What matters is how you treat other people. You might find a read of "Life in the World Unseen" to be interesting. It is a free download.

Its very rare that people like Joshua Tongol are too honest about their beliefs and have courage to speak out without caring what other say. They live by their own rules and principles as majority of people don't agree with him. Good, l personally appreciate his honesty and openness and God bless him always ☺☺👍👍

I relate with what and why you are saying how you think. Searching and seeking is the fundamental basis for learning and understanding on the deeper levels of soul searching and actual understanding. Religion should not be devising. Unity and Oneness of mankind is the most important kind of understanding for this day. I've just found you on KZitem and I am blown away by your insight of the importance for independent thinking toward developing soul and spirit in this journey of life. Coming together is the key. I agree and totally see and understand your point of view. I support you and applaud you. Another Friend.

I found you long time ago but just found this. I left 2 years ago and it’s been the hardest thing I have ever done and also the best. I’m doing the work to try and work through my anger at Christianity. Having a hard time doing that I have no compassion for Christians.

I can relate to you on so many levels. I've been on the same journey, grew up Independent Fundamental Baptist and went through so many years of truth seeking through multiple religions. It's has been such a long healing process both mentally and spiritually to fully embrace myself and my own beliefs rather than trying to conform to a Bible that I can't agree with in many ways. Love and authenticity is where it's at and I can honestly say I learned more about love and kindness from PBS Kids and Disney movies than I ever did from any church, Christian school and many books from the Bible that I read. Many blessings to you. I'm so grateful to learn I'm not the only one to have gone through this.

You know that it's not "I'm no longer a Christian" but "I never was a Christian". Hope you find your way.

Yep I get it. That's the only available explanation for you. Didnt matter that he's seeked like any other Christian has but hadn't found it because that doesnt resolve your cognitive dissonance. Obvious Truth is that the Truth isn't always Obvious and it's on God to reveal it when he sees fits. That's beyond us to be concerned with. All we can work with as humans is what weve been given. And I've never had a good relationship with any being by forcing something that was unnatural or having to run up an incline treadmill called "seeking" never to experience anything.

Another one off the treadmill. The horizon is much broader than we've been told. But I know you've already figured that much out. Thanks for the transparency.

proof that Buddha is wrong and misleading. The Lord doesn't want people who are Lukewarm . The straight and narrow path is NOT in the middle of the road. To be in the middle means, you are neither hot nor cold and HE will spew you out.

Both can be argued. But why not try to understand each other as what Jesus would say. Do you know what the middle way means by the teachings. It means not live to excess and follow good morals. There are many teachings. Its over 80000 teachings plus over 50 years of teachings. We are all one as it is explained in science. As well as quantum paticles are all the same. So we are all made of light. And the soul is the only thing that will remain eternal.

Thank-you for sharing your story and your journey of tremendous spiritual growth. I came here because of your LOA videos. I am inspired even more from what you share and teach. I rejected Christianity when I was 13, was an Atheist till I was nearly 18. Then I decided to practice my Traditional First Nations Cree Spirituality which pre-dates Christianity and is one of the oldest Spiritualities on Turtle Island (North America). A lot of what you teach from LOA to your brief here that all Religions have truth and everyone is to find their own truth that works for them is taught in my Cree Spirituality. I admire you more and think your story is so beautiful. I appreciate your sharing yourself fearless with the world and that is not a small feat.
