@WUMAN2023

I wish you success Ejike. It's never a do or die affair. Your decision is valid and I say this just in case anyone chooses to project their own reality on you. There are so many good sides about Nigeria that most Nigerians take for granted. They forget that what is far away can be deceptive. A visit or residence in the western world makes clear these advantages. A lot of our people glamourise the western world as a sort of paradise that it's not. They fail to see that just as the western world has its good sides, Nigeria also has a lot too which they probably choose to not or don't seem to see. Migration is great but should be done with clear, strategic and impactful as well as life fulfilling reasons. One key aspect about life's fulfillment is that money is not everything and there are so many factors that actually determines truly what a great quality of life is. Most Nigerians who migrate neglect this aspect and don't evaluate their migration decisions holistically and in long terms. One major problem is that unhealthy mentality of "escaping" Nigeria to a utopia believing that Nigeria will be what it will be at its own time while the Utopia embraces and nurtures them. The truth is that if we Nigerians want a great country, we can get it. This can only be done on the foundations of honesty, unity, integrity, selflessness, courage, knowledge and civility. Unfortunately, these traits are currently scarce in Nigeria. Most of our people have been and are held by the trap of "me/ my own". Our collective consciousness towards achieving a conducive, great and prosperous nation isn't significant enough to bear one at the moment. Hopefully one day, we as a people will tell ourselves the truth and do what's necessary to make our country better. This is my perspective, however to each his/her own.

Exactly! 5 years to complete 1st degree & Master's in a public uni!! That, right there, is why many are choosing to stay- the well-planned, well-executed situation of everything. Not everyone is concerned about striking it rich or making money (though that helps), for most, it's all about well-being and their sanity. It's about being able to live well -regular light, water, good roads, adequate medicals that is free for a lot of people, etc. I wish him well, but everyone will choose what makes them comfortable. I had a friend who went back and really struggled to find any thing, couldnt sustain herself and 5 years later is back to the UK. You go to Europe and start learning sacks of languages before you can be able to make real progress there. I live in Germany and here language is everything and you won't learn that overnight. It takes time. Then consider your age and rate of making your dreams come through there. If you are approaching 40 years or already above 40 years of age please forget about the EU. Good for him to return to Nigeria after studies. However, I will never blame Nigerians who go to and want to remain in the UK, other European countries or American, due to the dire economic and security situation in Nigeria. Nothing works in that Nigeria due to principally the corrupt and selfish politicians, leaders and bankers in Nigeria who have completely ruined the country. The very sad thing is that many modern day politicians in Nigeria enjoyed a very peaceful and economically prosperous country back in the 1970s and early 1980s where Nigerians drank water from taps not present day bore holes, supermarkets like Kingsway and Leventis, Nigerian Airways etc etc. But look at Nigeria today and how messed up the country is!!!! A time will come when travelling abroad to become a human will be archaic. He has made the best decision for himself. Nigeria is bad but people are still being successful. Its a matter of individual destinies and choices. What quality of life are you living where ever you are matters. Your food, your rest of mind, your thought state, if you live overseas and are sincere you will understand what l mean. Alot of us have returned home and many more are planning so as long you have your personal plans,equipped and organised.Nigeria still remains one of the best places in the world if you have experience the life outside. I prefer my people to be sincere and honest with themselves. If you have enough money to keep your life running, what the fuck will one be doing in a foreign land not your home. Its a matter of choice, for me no prestige living abroad, if you are fed up with the life out there, you go home and make best use of your life. Life is only once and better to live it in quality.

To all racists. There are barely 270,000 odd Nigerians in UK. Nigeria Tho experiencing economic decline gives out small num compare 270 000 to other uk communities. It's peanuts. When a man studies, wants best for all..Commend him as a human. Not by making snide remarks. When your free to go Canada USA Australia 10 15 generations Respect right of Nigerians too. Any migration issue don't take it out on 1 fella trying to improve things. You go to your local left wing Marxist inclined MPs who want to join Britain to somewhere else. Don't take it out on 1 Nigerian guy sayin gud stuff.

Wow! It's not surprising that the Nigerian government was not responsible for that. The Nigerian people are the ones RESPONSIBLE. QATAR is about doing the same. Big shame!!! We should start discussing why these countries reject Nigerians. We attack South Africa and Ghana but are quiet on the Dubai case. Kenya, Liberia, Uganda will soon do the same because the crimes committed by "Nigerian men" are on the rise. You blame Nigerian government but do the same outside Nigeria.

I hope you get that visa to wherever you want to go. You will realize what this young man and others like him are saying is the truth unlike the deceivers who are all over the social media. Don't go to foreign country illegally or live there illegally. Especially now that many western countries are anti immigrants (most importantly black immigrants).

Only you can not change Nigeria!!! What you like may not be what another person will like. This skills you have should also start in your household. Get married, give your children the best for there own generation. Nigeria is not changing today or tomorrow but the kind of mind set you give your kids matter alot. We need to start now to build the minds of the next generation.
