I am going to agree with you, having lived in Ontario (yes even in Toronto) and now I have decided to be in Quebec. The people here are very cultured and involved. They still attend theater shows like broadways, magic shows, go for walks, they have a whole section dedicated to fine cheese, paté, cretons, baguettes, etc. in their grocery store!! They will pay top dollar for amazing wine, bread or cheese. The beautiful people, the surrounding, the buildings, the monuments, the diversity and the share of culture even when it comes to food. They have all types of food here. I can honestly say they are very warming. I don't know if anyone understands what I mean but yeah...

@@ddangerous I was born and raised and QC, moved to ON at age 14. Up until 14 I had no English language knowledge. My ON cousins always made made fun of me and my siblings for not knowing the English language and segregated us. Then I moved to ON, at age 14, learning English for the first time. Everything I did was in English, like shop, interviews, everything, etc. I realized English grammar is so much easier as well. Moved back to Quebec at age 21. I somewhat lost my French language at this point. I spoke to no one in French except in high school. But being in a French high school in ON, all kids there spoke English. At 26, met my QC French speaking-only bf. Re-learned French. He actually learned English from me, Now somewhat lost my English touch cause I am use to speaking to my bf in French. Tried university in English, not happening...cause I only knew French terminology. switched to French. Today, people can hear my French accent but I, personally, feel that I am fluently bilingual. At work, I mix both French and English when communicating with my peers. It's weird, I am more comfortable speaking French but am more comfortable in writing in English. So you tell me, how French am i? lol
@BB-oh5vm

@@MilesRachooo lol what you mean I speak French fluently. To be quite frank, I am actually with the bill 101 and 96. I do believe there is a decline of the French language in QC and this needs to be preserved. There is a loss of culture and we want to preserve it. Quebec is special and we need to preserve our identity. If you're French, here: Pourquoi pas d'hospitalité? Faut qu'on conserve notre culture. Just saying!

I love Montréal! ❤️ I've been living here since 2003. My husband and I attempted to move in Edmonton, Alberta. But for more than 2 months, we decided to move back here in Montréal. I would say, "there's no place like home". Montréal is my home sweet home with my husband and only son.❤❤❤

40:42 "Move somewhere far and different" Love that advice! We recently moved and it really was a challenge living in an empty apartment like literally empty and just sleeping on cardboards for the first few nights. But it is true that it gives you a hard reset and lets you learn how to stand up again. Soon, we'll be moving in Cavite hoping to see you and RJ 😁

This vlog was really special! I hope folks recognize all the wisdom you’ve shared in this vlog. Also, I appreciate everything you’ve shared, I think it takes quite a lot of courage to open up your life and just put it on display like this. Thank you for that. I love, love, love Montreal! Ya’ll visited so many of my favorite places and it was awesome to see them all again. So many incredible memories I’ve got from Montreal over the years (decades actually, LOL). I love that ya’ll ate some incredible food! Poutine is a whole experience all in itself!! I hope you got tons of maple syrup to take home (there’s nothing like Montreal Maple Syrup). Mikey, your story times are always awesome, this one was very special. I’ve always encouraged my niece and nephews to “take a chance” while they’re young. That’s the time to try new things, experience new places and, as the song says… sing like no one’s listening, love like you’ve never been hurt, spend like you don’t need the money and dance line no one is watching, LOL. Funny enough, Montreal was the place that I actually came out to one of my nephews. There must be something in the aire…LOL. Ya’ll are having an incredible trip and, I appreciate you sharing with us!! Now, back to Toronto… I’m excited for some awesome family vlogs. Ya’ll be safe and I’ll see ‘ya next time.

Fall is the best . then you have 5 months of winter where you slowly fall into a stupor, some people can get seasonal depression, sun fall at like 4h30. Then you get the shitty spring for a month or 2 where it's all grey/brown, but not as cold, it's sugar shack season if you have a sweet tooth. And then you hit THE real spring, end of April/beginning of May. it's the first day where it hits 15 degrees without rain. EVERYBODY is outside , enjoying life, having a beer or just going on a walk. The winter dread is gone, now you got to make the most out of the summer, which Montreal does splendidly. Almost every week end has some kind of festival going. I think it's quite unique in that sense, very fun, lively city.

I love Montreal, I started my life there in 1990 as tourist to visit my sick sister who’s a nurse in one of the hospitals. Unfortunately she passed away and I was lucky to get a job through a working visa. After 5 years we have to move to BC to be closer to my family in Seattle. We went there last June for a visit. It’s a great city with a European background like the buildings. Montreal bagel along the Queen Mary road, the best bagel and so with the poutine, original in Quebec. Try also the Schwart’s Deli, the best sandwich ( Reuben sandwich). Don’t forget the St Joseph’s Oratory Mount Royal, Roman Catholic basilica. Good luck with your visit and God bless🙏❤️

Yes, all of the above I also follow you on ig and you liked my comment there: proud fil am canadian here, grew up in Montreal now live in Houston, my mom and brother lives there still so we visit often. I am a bagel snob, I only like St viateur bagels and get it flown here in Houston via gold belly. It is such a party city and very European, on point , everyone dresses well in Montreal.I have more winter clothes than summer clothes here in Texas because I know I will go back to Canada , maybe not to the 6 months of YUL winter but it will be beautiful YVR.Omg didn't know you lived there for 2 yrs, I love the Jazz fest, comedy fest, I have seen so may concerts at Atwater Forum, and Place des Arts.I graduated from a French high school. and Yes I think it is so good for the brain to speak 3 languages.I love their transportation system.But I don't like the potholes lol

Foie gras (French for “fat liver”) is the diseased liver of an animal who has suffered enormously.how true?
