I just eat between 2pm and 7pm or 8pm. I spread a blender's full of smoothie (green vegs, avocado, nuts, fruit, yogurt) over about 1 hour, supplement that with 1 liter of juice (spinach, peppers, carrots, orange, ginger, and celery) but more if I'm hungry, then have whatever my wife cooks for dinner. I used to eat a big ass salad (3-5lbs of produce) every day but it was such a grind I felt like a horse. Smoothie + juice ensures I get all my micronutrients, it's easy, and it's filling so I don't struggle with hunger. Dinner is usually Japanese traditional. This lifestyle is quite sustainable. I have all the energy I need to walk 3 miles early morning, do a HIIT workout at 9pm, and work throughout the day. A Blendtec or Vitamix is your friend.

Agree. No blender in the house would be a death sentence. My mouth is no match for a blender. After the holidays I picked up another one on sale as a back up. A carrot or celery stick is required - chew chew chew or you will eventually lose the bone holding in your teeth - if you live that long. Chewing seems to be a primal urge - guess we used to do a lot of chewing.

I had issues with diabetes, cancer (self healed both) and now I am healing my organs (after previously consuming organ damaging meds - nearly perished from renal failure). They said I needed an organ transplant/dialysis but I am using TCM/Ayurveda & vegan diet to get to my goal - have not required either for many yrs/my body is functioning on a much higher level.... Walking & etc again, after my family had previously planned my funeral. Never give up, right!?! 😉 My eating window is 6 hrs ha I also don't eat lots of sugary fruits, mostly berries, with healthy fats that keep me satiated. Too many carbs/high sugary fruits made me sooooooooooo hungry, that I could barely handle intermittent fasting. Now I do two smaller nourishing meals with lots of veggies . Mission accomplished!!!! 😀 Yes, there is always room for improvement!!! I feel excellent starting my day with lemon water(sometimes adding baking soda) and drink several gallons of plain well water throughout the day.... Feeling better and better everyday & never had such clear skin in my life! Lots of exercise in the garden, sunbathing with no sunscreen & earthing/grounding (hate shoes). Enjoy your channels, keep up the good work, keep happy, HEALTHY, safe & eat / go to bed early already lol 😂🤣 🤣😜 M (Mostly a veggie head ha ha ha)

I’ve been doing 16-8 intermittent fasting off and on for a couple of years now. I used to do 12-8, but recently I switched to 10am -6pm to give my body more time between eating and sleeping. (In hopes of improving my sleep quality). I found this schedule to be SO much easier and more comfortable. It’s great! I mention this because you said 16 hours is your goal (as if it’s possibly difficult to commit to). Maybe shifting the times will make it easy to stick to.

Yeh absolutely. You're talking about ayurvedic principles, eating in the middle of the day is the best and always when the sun is up. You need a helper, it sounds like:) I worked with a Dr. who believes in a seed milk with parsley/garlic/maybe a half yam with soaked germinated seeds, all blended fo breakfast and then for dinner at 5pm a bowl of avacado, veggies, maybe soaked almonds or other nuts. I did it for 6 months and had phenomenal results. I would like to try it again and stay with it for a year to allow for a full regeneration of body cells to occur. I’m going to add a super green food supplement this time. Would like to know what you recommend? I do agree with your eating times.

wow i so resonate with what you are saying here John Kohler, awesome video.im so impressed how you are always striving to optimize your routine...very inspiring.. im still doing that 10pm . midnight salad like you used to do and its not remotely optimal..i just don't get round to dinner earlier and i realize the timing is vital, i also have read all about how the healing happens overnight but like you ive not been getting round to it until the end of the day as there is so much to be done.. i think i also better print out a list of recommended eating times like you did.. my problem with the salad in the afternoon is it takes longer to make than a fruit meal / green smoothie when i need to do other things. Also the salad would have some fat which may become problem to interfere with fruit digestion later on.. another issue is that salad and fat is more tiring so sleeping thereafter seems more natural than after eating more energizing fruits. I do find a 12 hours eating window gives me enough time to become hungry before i eat. i tried for a period the daylight diet but found i had to cram food in when i wasnt yet hungry.. and as you say its best to eat when hungry not because its meal time..

Great video, John. Always love your energy and enthusiasm and passion. Sometimes I don’t agree with every detail but the majority or the main things, being all or mainly raw, organic, all or mainly vegan, I totally agree with. I really applaud the message (eating organic and fresh, growing your own, etc). In this video the one part I would take issue with, was when you started talking about “medically” supervised water fasts. Fasts have been part of every culture and religion, and of course we famously have Jesus fasting for 40 days in the Bible, which wasn’t a hugely strange or uncommon event for people to do in that time. Humans can fast for that long and I myself have water fasted for up to 26 days. I would not go to True North and I would steer clear of “white coats”, docs supervising a fast of mine. There are other great water fasting centers that are run by raw vegans like Doug Graham and Loren Lockman, for instance. Lockman has a beautiful fasting retreat center in Costa Rica called Tanglewood, I think Doug Graham also has a fasting center in Costa Rica. But True North is not recommending a raw diet and this notion that we need doctors to supervise us is just feeding into the western medical complex’s trying to make anything out of their model (doing lots of tests then plying us with medications since they have been brainwashed by the Rockefeller medical mafia, aka Big Pharma, and since they are in bed with Big Pharma getting kickbacks from them. I’m surprised that you, a raw vegan, doesn’t recommend the centers run by raw vegans and recommends True North, the only one connected with the medical industrial complex, and the o e that includes cooked foods in the refeeding process, and tries to make us fearful of our body’s natural healing process, which is fasting. Animals also fast when I’ll, so we shouldn’t be so fearful of this natural process.

I personally do not intermittent eat because I am healing from chronic illnesses. When you don’t eat you go into a fight or flight mode and produce adrenaline to make up for the drop in blood sugar. One of my problems was adrenal fatigue. So, I eat small meals throughout the day keeping my adrenals happy. And too much adrenaline can be very corrosive to the body and feed pathogens. I’m healing this way and happy. 🙏

I’ve been feeling this intuitively, just makes sense that eating more dense heavier foods during the hours of noon - 3pm is optimal for the digestion to catch up and digest everything before sleeping. Aloha
@sowhat...
4 жыл бұрын
Yes but on the other hand the heaviest foods supposedly should be eaten last in the day so the lightest won't catch up with heaviest. So what do we do then? Then we got a different problem. That's why I'm thinking maybe what's most natural is one meal a day. But it should never be forced, only if our body ever gets to that point to naturally ask for only that. In nature in a natural world we'd be much healthier and more efficient so we probably wouldn't have that problem as we'd need less food than most people now. But it could also be that a completely clean and efficient body can digest the heavy stuff eaten at noon fast enough so that the lightest stuff eaten for dinner won't catch up. Idk anything for sure I'm just making thoughts.

Sigh. I eat when I'm hungry, usually very small meals/snacks (like a cup's worth -- maybe a cuke, big tomato, melon chunk, berries, some celery or kraut, steamed or fresh seasoned greens). But I haven't slept well for a few years, and sometimes when I awaken after a few hours, I'm hungry -- in which case, I eat a few bites and can get back to sleep. Craycray, I know.
