Thanks for sharing this. As a former 9 year vegan, who switched to ketovore about 3 years ago, the biggest thing I learned from being on both ends of the spectrum, is eat, real, whole, one ingredient, foods, is key. Get rid of processed foods. Get enough sleep. Strength train. Get in the sun and touch grass. Not that hard, but at the same time sometimes pretty hard to do.

I did it strictly for about 4 months and had amazing success, dropping over 60#. I got mostly where I wanted to go, and now I'm happy to do it slower and just maintain. I'm still largely carnivore, but more accurately carnivorish. I told my wife to start that I'm not going to do anything that I'll just grow to resent, and that means I'm giving it a break for major holidays. I've also added some berries with the yogurt and will grill up some onions and veggies that are in season... 2-3x per week. I LOVE my tomatoes. I may not be losing at the same rate, but I feel better, don't resent what I'm doing, and I enjoy life. Still losing about a pound a week with 20ish left to go, but that's good enough. Good isn't the enemy of perfect, particularly since I don't think there is a perfect or if there is, it's subjective.

You figured out that this journey is all about you. What your body can accept. I started my journey to get off diabetic meds. They were harming me. So I went to low carb. It evolved to ketovore. I went carnivore too. But it didn't work for me. I am carnivore but with a few fruits and selected veggies. Seed oils and flour are out! I tried and tried, and I shorted it out! What works for me with many things. 1 year later as a 54 y.o.man. I lost 96lbs out of 125lbs to lose. All my issues are gone and I am off the meds. The only thing left is the oxalates' dumping issues. So, I am now deeply into controlling my oxalates intake to below 100mg per day. It really makes a difference 😊

Your approach to the carnivore diet is similar to mine, where I am not super strict about it and I don't hide that fact. I am 91 days in today and I eat almost exclusively animal based food. I prefer to call my diet a "Carnivore Plus", because it's carnivore...plus some other stuff. I also eat 85% dark chocolate regularly in small quantities and I love that with a glass of full milk. You mentioned eye twitches and it made me realise that I had this issue several times a month for years. I haven't had it since going carnivore. I had a list of ailments as long as my arm which I don't have anymore and thanks to content creators like you, who have talking through experiences video formats, I learned a lot and got prepared for my own journey. Thanks for adding your experience here. I'll do the same, but just not as often :)

Those who advocate strict dogmas tend to preach wildly and then disappear. Of those I've known who are militaristic about being a carnivore and over-correct everyone else, I don't know any who have gone past 6 months because they treat it as a religion instead of a series of daily choices that add up to a lifestyle. I'm at 9 months now. The lady who introduced me to it got hysterical when I didn't go out and preach it to everyone else and join her crusade. Then she lost it again when I didn't limit myself to turkey at Thanksgiving. The difference is that I've lost well over 60# and am nearly down to my goal while she comes and goes and excuses her complete abdication of the diet for months at a time and has lost and gained her initial 35# weight several times over again. I'll take happy consistency over miserable [and failing] perfection every time.

Thank you, for your honesty. I never counted grams; I just started the carnivore program on 5/15/23, right after they put six (6) stints in me. I'm Italian, so no pasta, bread, or ice cream was like getting tied to a post and whipped. I was 240 pounds then, and I lost 30 pounds in 6 weeks. Before the carnivore and weight loss, I couldn't squat down to get things out of the cupboard without knee pain; I had terrible leg cramps while lying down; bad heartburn; itchy skin; I would frequently wake up with vomit in my mouth; I slept 3 to 4 hours a night; and I craved sugar. Now, after almost one year, I take no medicine; sugar doesn't control me. My blood pressure is normal, I sleep like a child (5-7 hours a night), I do my squats every day, I walk my golf rounds carrying my bag, I can get in and out of my fishing kayak, I never have leg cramps, heartburn or vomiting during sleep. Recently, I started incorporating milk, very little raw sugar, Sunday sauce, and homemade bread into my diet, and holiday sweet treats. I have noticed I feel extra full longer when eating them. I also get leg cramps and heartburn after eating sweets and fight the sugar cravings again. I've gained five (5) pounds too, which I can't lose. So, I've limited myself to a lower carbohydrate frequency again, and everything is back to normal. Oh, I drink two large cups of coffee every day with heavy cream only; that's always been non-negotiable. The important things to consider are personal. Once you eliminate the unhealthy foods and feel the difference, you'll know the difference between what your body needs and want you want. Once you determined your addictions that are causing you discomfort, coming off the wagon slightly is a train ride that speeds up. Now I understand what an alcoholic, or drug addict, goes through.

I feel best with red meat mostly (but I struggle with very low iron and have for many years so my body needs it). But I've become quite sensitive and in tune with how my body reacts to food...and I've noticed it can change. One week I can't tolerate a food, but another time I can. Your video randomly came up in my feed. I really liked your attitude of paying attention to how you feel eating foods. I don't eat like you at all. I LOVE vegetables, but I am mostly focusing on keeping my blood sugar stable as I have been a sugar addict in the past. Thanks for sharing. I think it's interesting how different people's diets are.

As someone who is trying to stay strict carnivore to heal metabolic issues, I believe most of my cortisol and stress is worrying if I eat a pickle I'm going to ruin all my progress. Thank you for this video!

Maybe your body is craving the pickle for whatever is in there that will help you heal. Just cuz doctors write about a bunch of different things and tell you a bunch of different things that usually seem definitive It doesn't mean that you don't know your own body. I've tried all the different diets including carnivore. The only thing I liked about carnivore was how simple it was to not have to plan meals. I did feel my energy change a little bit and for me it just is not a sustainable life choice to eat that way. God created all kinds of food for us to eat on the planet and we just choose. Choosing food that is not with a lot of chemicals is probably the best and exercise will burn pretty much anything out of your body

"It creates a false reality for people." This is SUCH an important point, about the real impact of influential figures deliberately allowing the public to believe something about them that isn't true.

That's what this "influencers" bullshit is all about, isn't it? Most "influencers" are people that are selling their soul for viewers and subscribers and selling a fake reality that is almost impossible to achieve for most of their audience...

@@virtualpilgrim8645 you just type the time and youtube will convert it onto a link. For example, if you want to refer to something that happened in the video at the two and half minute time you simply type 2:30 and it will turn onto a timestamp that points to that time in the video

Hi Lillie another minimalist carnivore here … since Covid I have been having one food delivery a week … each ingredient has its position in the fridge and no meal takes more than 15 minutes to prepare … 8 hour eating window, never hungry … lost 20lbs to reach my target, weight never varies by more than 100 grams a week … no meds and no pains … life can be simple !!

Wow! Thank you, SO much Lillie! I have been trying to refine my diet to combat T2 Diabetes, exczema, R.A., Morbid Obesity, Hypertension, celiacs disease, left lateral ascending colitis, and food allergies. I was unhealthy in the extreme and I am still in healing mode. I started keto on 12/26/2023 (and with my OCD I hit ketosis in 3 days) I didn't have the "Keto flu" but I had neglected that with my intestine issues my system can not tolerate fiber. Even though my diet was healthy (no gluten, soy, peanut, corn, or processed food) 75%fats 20%protien 5%carbs (or less), I was having LOTS of fiber in the form of veggies and this caused my first ever colitis "flare-up" (The most pain I have ever experienced in my life, including tooth pain and kidney stones) so my doctor said that he wanted me to try a "No fiber No carb diet" basically no plants. As of 04/01/2024, I have been carnivore (with the exception of coffee with only heavy cream in it) Shrimp, Sardines, Chicken, Salmon, Beef, Liver, Butter, Eggs. (once every 2 weeks or so I have a "treat" of bacon). I pretty much eat no carbs 75% fats 25% proteins I think I have become completely fat adapted so I don't get sugar highs or lows and have completely reversed my type 2 diabetes ( I am off all meds but my Dr. says that he wants to keep me on a very low dose 250mg time release metformin because it is apparently a strong factor in longevity studies even in the absence of diabetes), my blood pressure has normalized (I have been taken off 2 of the 3 bloodpressure meds I was on, again one was reduced to a maintenance dose because of other health benefits), and my digestive system feels and works great now! All this is great but I have been struggling with my skin issues I have on 06/01/2024 started an elimination diet (Beef, Liver, Water, Salt, Electrolytes) and as of 07/01/2024 my skin is healing well and I added in coffee everything is doing fine (the headaches from no coffee were terrible). I am adding back non carb dairy (butter and heavy cream) on 08/01/2024. I want to add a new food every two weeks still adhering to the no fiber no carbs rule. I eventually would like to add some plant products back into my diet, because I think there are health benefits to some of them. I must remain no fiber no carbs but I want to add olive oil and certain spices that may have certain benefits (like garlic, ginger, turmeric, coconut oil, kinds of vinegar...) I will of course do my research. I love to hear that you don't have to be a fanatic (like hardcore vegans and carnivores) but I also do believe that as a species we are hunters by nature ( Design? ) and our proper every day food is meat and organs. That having been said there have always been the presence of seasonal fruits, nits, and berrys in our diet as well so I feel that eating things that would have existed in our diet before the agricultural revolution is a healthier choice. Again thank you for all your help, and thank you for "listening". Blessings.

I went what I considered strict carnivore for a few months and then slowly started adding back in other foods. I still stay away from processed sugar and grains for the most part, but have had some higher carb things like potatoes and beans on occasion. I think you hit the nail on the head with the mindset of eating what makes ya feel good and not eating what makes ya feel bad in some way. On another note I have watched you long enough that I feel comfortable enough to say that I hope you and Bryce start a family one day. Y’all are just the cutest couple and you seem like you’d make such a great momma! Hope that isn’t offensive or over stepping, I mean it as the highest compliment to you both!!

I like fried in butter potato slices with my eggs and coffee with honey and milk. Plus i like to add a little Bushes baked beans to my hamburger meat for supper and just chicken for lunch. I treat myself to some peanut butter cups on the weekend as a treat. 64 5'10 173 and still pumping iron. No doctors, drugs, jabs or masks.

Do you feel like it was beneficial to have been strict carnivore for a few months before you started adding things back in?
@LeaC816
2 ай бұрын
@@natashas.3119 Absolutely. 🙂 I was having digestion issues and it’s TMI but meat was the only food I was fully digesting. If I ate a salad, I saw a salad in the toilet. I used carnivore as an elimination diet. I gave my gut a little time to heal without aggravation from foods that weren’t agreeing with me. Slowly adding things back in has allowed me to see what truly causes reactions and the severity of them so I can make wiser choices about what I do and don’t eat.

This video, to me, has been better than most of the Dr videos I have seen. I am 61 and I have learned that people get polarized, whether it is politics, religion or any philosophy or ideology people get polarized and they can't see beyond what they believe. I to have found that I need more carbs, but also learned that it needs to be moderate and natural.

I absolutely love your approach to eating what makes you feel healthy. Adding and removing carbs, tracking data with devices, and checking your bloodwork. I am in the same boat, but am dealing with hormonal changes as I am in perimenopause. I loved hearing how you worked through things and I believe stress does a lot of crazy things to our bodies. I have done 30 day stints of strict carnivore. I mostly focus on protein in my diet, but I do eat a variety of meat rather than making red meat a priority. I FEEL better when I'm not eating carbs. I am looking into getting a CGM myself and I've purchased an Oura ring as well. Wish me luck!
