“It’s okay to outgrow a blessing” is the kindest, most gentle way I’ve ever heard someone say “this job isn’t worth it and is actively harmful to me.” As a former teacher who tries very hard to convince every teacher to quit because of how abusive the job is I’m stealing those words.

Yes! It feels weird to go from a place of trying to cram a year's worth of living into a summer. Trying to deprogram my brain from that thinking now that I'm not in a school anymore.

Today, I want to share a personal journey-why I made the decision to quit teaching. It wasn't an easy choice, but ultimately, it came down to prioritizing my own well-being over the constant battle with burnout. Join me as I delve into the reasons behind this pivotal decision and how it has reshaped my perspective on self-care and life.

So inspiring. I'm burnt out and would love to hear more about ed tech. I want to make more than teaching provides too, it's not easy leaving a profession you worked so hard to make happen. The way admin isn't supportive of teachers also makes it a crunchy space of hmmm..

@@jackie_twirlsmarashlian6947 Leaving a profession you’ve known for your entire life is definitely not easy. I’ll be sure to post some other videos on EdTech, but in the interim check out my other teacher pivot videos where I talk about EdTech🤗

I wanted to teach math in the 70's until I learned that teachers can't carry protection. Those of you in high school at that time might remember the seemingly constant news about teachers getting shot. So it is nothing new people. But it still falls back to the parents and parenting or lack of.

What is an Ed Tech job? How does it compare to educational consulting? Where do you find that type of job?
@jesicalindor
2 ай бұрын
@@crochetlady83chicachat31 Hi! EdTech is short for Educational Technology. EdTech companies are the software programs that students use in the classroom (I.e. I-Ready, IXL, Brainpop, etc.). A consultant can work at an EdTech company. Lmk if it would be helpful to make a video on this.
