Hi ❤I agree! My hair loves wash n go styles, but I don’t.😅 I could keep my hair in a wash n go until my next wash day. My hair stays moisturized, and the style gets better every single day. But when it comes time to detangle my hair 😢, OMG 😱 My type 4 hair is more tangled than it looks 👀🤦🏽♀️ I think my curls loc’d 😮 Once my hair hit almost waist length, it could take me a couple of days to get my hair detangled. For me, my hair thrives in wash and gos for 2 reasons. My hair is 3c/4a. I moisturize and I seal with a very heavy butter/oil mix, leaving my hair moisturized alllll week with no refreshing. 2nd reason is I do the shingling method every time which keeps my hair separated and doesn’t allow it to tangle. I wear this for a week and when I wash my hair it is still very detangled and moisturized. I still protective style cause I like the look tho

@HairByPierre

@@YesheChodron Shingling is a styling technique where you apply your curly hair products, and then section through each curl to separate and smooth it. It’s best to do it to the size of your curl pattern, bigger pieces for looser curls and smaller for tighter curls. Search shingling method on KZitem to see what I mean. I also have a few videos of me doing it on my channel

My hair has also thrived with WnG styling. It is 3c/4a and I use a leave-in and mousse, or a system designed for WnG like Curl Mix or Kinky Curly. I also diffuse my hair dry just because air drying leaves my hair frizzy. I don't shingle because my coils separate easily on their own.

EVERYTHING she says about a wash and go is EXACTLY why I stopped doing wash and gos years ago. When my hair was shorter, I could deal with the wash and go, but as it started to grow out, NOBODY could talk her into going back to the wash and go. My hair is VERY fine and is coily like a spring. It tangles very easily when left out. I leave my hair in two-stranded twists. Sometime after a twist and before I wash my hair, I may leave it out for a day or two, but my hair is so defined that most people think it is still in the twist. I am in total agreement with the content of this video.

My hair thrives on waßh and go her’s doesn't . Becaise we jumped on every bandwagon that came along, we pushed routines and practices that don't work for us. We hàd no guidelines and all of a sudden there was an influx of info and we tried everything we saw on social media and most don't work. For everything we do, there is someone saying don't do that. So just try it a few times and change if it doesn't work. We are flogging way too many dead horses in natural hairdom. Glad you addressed this topic. Wash and gos have so far not been my thing. I say that because the only way my hair grows and stays untangled is with twists. I definitely agree hair is less tangled when in a stretched state. Your hair looks amazing in twists, mine does not. My twist out just ends up being puffy. I know I have more tangles and more single strand knots doing wash and goes, but I don’t care. I actually usually only wear my hair down to church on Sunday which is also my wash day. Every day at work it’s in a bun or a poof. If I go out to dinner, or a concert or something I might have it down, but it’s up 90% of the time so I’ve been able to retain my length quite well.

Add a bit of moisture and oil to your ends from time to time. Not everyday though lol. The definition should come through. I kept forgetting my ends a lot or I was being too aggressive when trying to finish quickly or retwist which was causing the ends to look fluffy not knowing that it's split ends. Sometimes we just need a trim to get rid of those dead ends to get our fingers through smooth hair

Once my hair got bra length and longer wash n go's were a nightmare recipe for tangles. I think its better for people with shoulder hair length. Now i wont even leave my hair out for more than a day bc by next day my nape is so tangled.

I gave wash and go around 4 or 5 attempts and I never like it. I rather twist or braid, even curl my hair.

I purchased Fenugreek Elixir, Amla Powder & Amla with Bhirang...with 2A-C hair HELP!!! I have definitely seen an improvement but my hair does not curl & my roots once dry (high porosity) look like a 'fro while the shaft is wavy & wild! Farida I wish I could come the UK and just sit in your presence so you can understand my pain! (not really pain kidding) but assist me further! My hair loves hair oils!

YES, YES,! AND i HAVE LEARNED THIS THE HARD WAY WITH WASH AND GO! mY HAIR GREW LONGER WITH HAVING TWIST BU MY HAIR LINE WAS THINNING BECAUSE THE TWIST WERE IN AND THE SAME DIRECTION. I WILL TRY THE TWIST OUT SOMETIMES AND SWITCH UP. YES, ALOE DOES SHIRNK. I LIKE SHEA BUTTER BUT AM CAREFUL BECAUSE IT IS A NATURAL PROTIEN, SO NOT TO USE IT TOO MUCH1 MY HAIR LOVES LOVES JOJOBA OIL AND NOTICED A HUGE DIFFERENCE USING THAT AND ARGAN OIL(ORGANIC) TOGETHER AND FENUGREEK, CHEBE AND AMLA INTERANLLY AND COLLEGEN HAS HELP A GREAT DEAL. STILL LOOKING FOR A GOOD HAIR CONDITIONER. I DO LIKE TWIST AND AM GENTLER WITH MY HAIR WHICH ALSO HELP. THANK YOU!

Over 30 days ago I literally went back to my original routine of twisting my hair at night which I use to do religiously over 15 years ago. My hair was breaking off as well as hard and brittle. I also trashed all my expired products no matter how much was in the container and now I only use what works for me. My hair is now thriving and growing again. My center part is filling in and my curls are shiny and juicy and I’m getting compliments on my hair EVERY day.

Farida my hair is grwoinggggg! Thanks to you! I am not even oiling it religiously all I do is use the egg mask, henna mask once and I’m actually blow drying it which is extending the wash days! Doing the trinity method too!!

When I do twist on my hair after I wash it and condition it, my hair stays very damp a day later. The lady at the salon says thats not good, it weakens the hair therefore it breaks. I'm not sure what to do. 😢

Washing goes never looked good on me because I have three different curl types in my hair. I have always done twist outs leaving my hair in twists for several days until I untwisted my hair on the weekends or special event. This was the only way I was able to retain hair length on my hair journey.

I've got the kinkyest coily hair and with seborrheic dermatitis, both really work for me just that wash and go's take FOREVER!!! Someone change that name PLEASE! (Dunno how my hair dresser does my hair in an hour cos takes me a lot longer) but i feel it helps me cos its minimal touching and i can still get to my scalp. Mini twists are definitely my go to cos my hair is most obedient kept in 1 place lol. Along with braids in the winter and really busy times

My sister's I was a wash and go girl and I was happy but last winter I tried mini braids and since then I haven't done a wash and go I just can't,,,why.... because when my hair in in braids my hair is juicy,moisturize, protected,without tangles and im retaining lenth........and now I wash my hair withvpure water and clean my scalp with aloe vera juice with rosmery....I use avocado oil on my braids and that's it...bo shampo,conditioner and living conditioner and my hair is clean moisturize and finally growing.......girls we don't need much to grow our hair❤
