Thank you for your video! I sustained significant damage to three of my limbs in a motorcycle accident 9 months ago. As the weather is getting nice I've been dismayed that my leg wouldn't be recovered enough to safely ride a bike. However, I took the 3 wheel course and the next weekend purchased a used 2021 Rally. I love, love, love riding it! I don't miss the clutch and find myself much more relaxed. Feeling so blessed to have this option available!

While you were posting this video I was signing the papers and riding off with my new 2020 Ryker Rally! I haven't ridden bikes in over 30 years, so I didn't feel confident in my late 50s to hope on two wheels. Same as you, I researched the heck out of the Ryker for about a year. I was lucky enough to get the last 2020 in the showroom at the clearance price. Thanks for serving! My wife and I are Desert Storm vets. We had been married only three months so it was quite the honeymoon!

Hey Coach great video!! I am very able bodied two ride two wheels, not in my 20’s anymore but still very strong. With that said, I have ALWAYS preferred to ride something that does the balancing for me. For me, driving is about enjoyment. I like steering and I like being in the wind and the scenery. Balancing and gear shifting just isn’t fun to me. I am a big guy. I like to see how big boys like me look on these Rykers. Are you a big guy? If so, any vids of you on it? Thanks.

Interesting video on your trike. I am 72 and I have also had balance issues without going to war. It is part of ageing not so gracefully. However if you check out some videos on You tube there ares some great exercises which do help. The issue is in the tubes behind the ears and with a bit of work you can re-balance the liquids in those tubes. They only take a couple of minutes each day and will make your life a lot more fun. Bob and Brad a pair of physio geniuses have some great advice on what to do and its free as long as you follow their advice. Anyhow sounds like the bike is a great bit of fun.

I'm 45 and 6'4" 300lbs and started losing my balance a few years ago. Turns out it was back issues, degenerative disc disease and arthritis have pushed on my nerves in my spinal canal causing weakness in my legs along with numbness after standing for a few minutes. The loss of balance happened way before the numbness and I attributed it to my blood pressure meds but it's definitely back issues. Just something to check on, especially if you experience sciatica or any shooting nerve pain down your legs. These are classic symptoms of lumbar spinal issues. Love the bike!

I'm 62 yrs old. I raced Motocross for 39 yrs and rode on road most of my life. Since breaking my neck at 50 yrs old I had to give up riding. Reason for contacting you is tha I suffer from vertigo so balance is an issue. I'm now looking into a CanAm. I actually raced one back in 1975. So three wheels make sence to me. Your info especially pointing out not sitting on but in the bike as it is an extention of yourself as was my sniper rifle back in Canadian military days. Thank you for your video. Informative and you know your ride. Cheers. I too do not ride passengers. It is a very personal experience to ride and I love my alone time in the wind. Im Mark. I'm in Toronto. I'll keep in the loop as to your experiences. The options you chose are great.

Manually shifting gears for the casual / daily driver is highly overrated. My hand gets so tired of holding the clutch in traffic. Also, low speed creeping in traffic is a pain where you are at the in between of dragging your feet and riding. This solves both of those problems.

My experience has been very similar to yours. After many years on a bike, in my mid 40s I started to feel like my ability to balance a heavy bike was beyond my skills and no longer felt safe. Was ready to give up as I didn't want a traditional trike. But then saw a Ryker..... So I got a Ryker 900 just like yours a few weeks ago. I love it! So happy with my purchase. I have the 1up backrest and I feel it gives some great support.

Thanks Coach. That was very helpful particularly as I also have balance problems. As you I am fine whilst riding but when stationary it becomes difficult. In my case it is due to diabetes and first hit me when I was 63, I'm now 78 and still riding. The other thing you confirmed for me is the vibration and the fact that there is reason to do something with the grips. That is a shame because I have been riding since I was 16 and I've never had this problem with any other machine. Great video and very helpful.

I have a balance issue as well. I have ridden bikes for over 35+++ years. My 1st bike was a cushman scooter when I was a kid. Still have my1st street bike 1983 LTD750 Kawasaki. It is in my garage collecting dust. Rode a Valkyrie for years with my wife. It was a beautiful bike. Arlen Ness tail dragged tail fender Corbin saddles front and rear with back rests! Man I miss that bike. Sold it a few years back. Looking at a Spyder now. That balance thing is a issue plus the wife wouldn’t feel comfortable as a passenger. I don’t blame her! I drive 250+ miles a day for work, so driving isn’t the problem, just the balance issue. I had a major stroke a few years back and the only issue I have left is the balance thing. Thinking about the Spyder this year. Just think the bigger bike will be good for 2 adults. 1330cc will be plenty of power for 2 up ridding.

I am also a Georgia resident and a Desert Storm Veteran, but I decided on a 2018 Spyder RT LTD. The biggest reason is because I have degenerative disk disease in my lower spine and I have to use a wheelchair, which means I have to pull a trailer to carry the chair in. I liked the 900 Ryker ACE when I was shopping for a new ride, but until they come up with one that can pull a trailer, I'll have to stay with the Spyder. I just subscribed and hope to watch more of your KZitem videos as they come out. I sign my comments with TCRS, which means Take Care, Ride Safe. Gerry Wood.
