@@artistblanco I think people should use the editing software that makes them feel the most creative! Also there’s zero harm in trying Resolve. The free version is absolutely insane. I’d just try it, and see if you feel like you enjoy the process of editing even more over there. Also I see no harm in using both for different use cases. Have a quick KZitem video you’re pushing out in the next few hours? Maybe use FCP. Have a deep narrative project with branching storylines and complex color grades? Resolves definitely the better option there.

I 1000% agree with this! They both are awesome programs. It just all depends on your preference and needs that will subjectively make one better than the other. I should have elaborated more on this in the video, but there is nothing wrong with trying them all out! And, you could totally use both. (One time payment for each program too? Can’t beat that!)

People like you The Final Cut Bro and Dylan John and Ryan Nagle are the only people keeping Final Cut Pro alive. Seriously. Only reason why i hate FCPX is because we know Apple can be better and you guys deserve better. I still watch your videos even if I dont use FCPX anymore lol. Thank you Mr Bates.

It's also sooooooooo much cheaper in the long run. Both NLEs are the same base price, but in FCP you'll end up buying so many third party plugins that Resolve just has built in, like 3D tracking and AI assisted roto

Honestly at this point the magnetic timeline is the only thing keeping me from deep diving into Resolve. Please!!! Please Blackmagic make this happen. Keep the tracks but make it possible to link clips together so if you move one the others go with it. Also if I drop a new clip in the others move out of the way.

Only if Davinci would have a way of Selecting Favorites and building my timelines off of that would I might consider trying Davinci more often. But how it is now, Too many extra steps involved, keystrokes and just clunky for such a simple task like it is in FCPX. I can rip through my clips Hit I/O hit F and move on very very fast and then build my timeline with just those selects.

Believe it or not! It wasn’t too difficult, the portal/warp transition is actually built into davinci resolve which is crazy! For the screen transition, I just matched my camera footage with the on screen footage to make the “pop out of screen” portion more seamless and added a dissolve transition. I could make a video on it or maybe a short one day 🤝

Thanks for the video, sorry for the off topic, but can someone do a good FCPX with Sony clips roundtrip to Davinci and back again tutorial? I have searched everywhere and can only find old ones that do not work properly. Every single time I try to do it there is some kind of problem. Media not not found in Davinci due to the Timecode problems, which I cn fix manually which is already a PIA, but then Davinci NEVER recognizes my crops and transforms and is useless. I am sure I'm not the Only Sony users and FCPX users that would like to color grade in Davinci. I would actually try Davinci for everything if they had a way of selecting my favorite clips and building a timeline off those selects as fast and easy as FCPX. As for now, there are too many extra folders or keystrokes needed to do it. I can BLAZE through my clips, Hit I/O then F and then only looks at my favorites to build my timeline, There is NO other way in any program to do it faster. Thanks if anybody can make or know where there is a proper FCPX---} to Davinci and Back workflow with Sony clips. PLEASE!!!

@@willhallfilms When you suddenly see that hundreds of youtubers "suddenly" feel the need to switch from FCP to Blackmagic, you do start to wonder. Specialy when you look at davinci. FREE they all shout, but if you wanne use some tekst or anything else, with 90% of all tekst, effects or anything else, it is the studio version you need. And that is PLING again. But anyway, davinci wouldnt be the first company's to place their advertisements on you tube.
