As a history teacher, I'd love to teach a unit called "Conspiracy Theories." It seems now more than ever this would be an incredibly relevant topic to teach. We could look at all the classics like JFK, the moon landing, and flat earth. Then we can ask the question, well "what IS a conspiracy theory" exactly. And students could choose their own to research and (probably) debunk.
The final project would require students to apply all the skills of a historian - asking questions, gathering evidence, evaluating sources, drawing conclusions and writing reports.
If you know and love the themantic model and you'd like to become a teacher geek contributor, please get in touch. We want to have teaching materials like the ones on our store available made by teachers for teachers that cover all subjects and grade levels.
