In today's video I am sharing how and why I gave up alcohol and started living a sober lifestyle. I am sharing my favorite mocktail recipes and giving tips for going sober!
I am celebrating being sober for 1 year! I've always had an open-minded and curious mindset when it comes to experimenting with consciousness altering substances. This mindset got me in trouble with alcohol. I was consuming it like everyone else around me but it was harmful for my health. I was questioning my own normalcy because everyone else seemed not to have terrible hangovers like I did. I realised that it's time to question the norm and start making choices that are good for me, not to fit in with others.
Giving up alcohol also meant giving up a few "friendships". Turns out some people were not interested in spending time with me anymore because I didn't drink alcohol.
I also realised that I was using alcohol to prevent myself from doing challenging and hard things, like working towards reaching my dreams and goals. When I stopped drinking alcohol, I stopped standing in my own way.
