Shaykh Ibn Taymiyya was a brilliant but demented Hanbali scholar who has inspired today's Salafis. He was jailed mainly for the same beliefs you now hear among the Salafis such as anthropomorphism, takfirism and other extremist ideas which went against the pale of Sunni Islam. The famous Moroccan scholar and traveller Ibn Batuta met him in damascus in 1326 and described him as being majnun (insane). His own student ad dhahabi, though he admired his teacher's intellect, described him as frequently tactless , harsh, prone to insults and argumentative( now you know where our modern day Salafis get their habits from). While Salafis cherry pick and take the most devient views of ibn Taymiyya and propagate it, they are silent on the fact that Ibn Taymiyya belonged to the Qadiriyyah order of Sufis. His critique on sufism was mainly on the innovations that had crept into the orders that were unislamic. When he died he was buried in the sufi graveyard near his brother. While a controversial, brilliant and somewhat unhinged scholars, his breadth of thought has been confined by the Najdiyya Salafis who have picked up and run with his most devient ideas, ideas for which the Muslim authorities, both secular and religious, ensured that he remained incarcerated and away from the Muslim public of his time. His obscure works would have remained in the dustbins of history were it not for the Najdiyya Salafi who, flush with oil money, revived them and printed them in the millions and helped to promote his devient ideas. Unfortunately, these ideas have plagued Muslims and have given birth to extremism and the birth of all devient jihadi groups from Isis to Shabab to boko haram, who follow this brand of extremist Islam, and have caused the death and suffering of untold number of Muslims.

I am a revert to the Deen of Allah for over 25 yrs (like most sahabas btw) so I left what I know is wrong from my parent's religious heritage: full stop. I found Islam & I love all of it! I am amazed that Mufti who evidently oppose Islam at the core, can't just leave it & move on. That is more productive than turning into a perpetually sniggering & sarcastic Mufti. You don't need those books behind you to validate you. You are enough! Life is short be brave, be yourself, people will love & accept you without a counterfeit Islam to project yourself.

But we know at least 12 to 14 companions were involved in an assassination attempt against the prophet when he was traveling back from the land of tabuk when he was traveling through Aqaba Hudafah and ammar ibn Yasser both confirmed the story and some years later Hudafah was asked by Omar ibn khattab if he saw the faces of the people who tried to kill the prophet and Hudafah said he did and then Omar asked him was I one of them this is from authentic Hadith from Bukhari . As the Prophet passed through the Aqaba, 12 men from the army conspired to kill him. Masked, they decided to climb the top of the Aqaba and throw rocks at the convoy till it slips and falls off the mountain. The sources concur that the Prophet was warned of the conspiracy by Gabriel.

Thia is why we need tasawwuf. Imagine if salafis adored the prophet as much as they do their imams. Allah tells us to send salawat to the prophet in the quran. They say oh you can send salawat but not in congregation, its haram. You can remember Allah but not in segregation, that's haram. Dhikr, haram, imagine that. When you do dhikr in a congregation is when' it most spiritually beneficial. Salafis have sucked Islam dry. It's just a shell of it, based on mandatory action and fear. No love. Their philosophy is love through fear. We all know means can never justify the ends. The jews worship Allah for their love of Him not His Wrath. We can learn a lot from the jews.

Personally as a Muslim I don't consider Ibn taymiyah a Muslim because he wrote many things against Ali Ibn Ani Talib the son-in-law of the prophet and cousin so and we all know that Ali is part of the family of the prophet who is allowed to come under the cloak meaning he is the family when you send a blessings and prayers upon the family of Muhammad you're sending them on to our lead That's just a fact All Muslims agree with that all of them so it would take me a basically is a non-believer You can pray but if you don't send blessings on the family of Muhammad your prayer is invalid it doesn't matter if you prayed 800,000 times

@Siraj Haq hey! On what question is it based on, From this Monday? About why that god punish non believers in the time of the prophet? Meanwhile you have free will for decide to believe? Look I know what your mean or what your trying to go with it... it’s an easy ting to say when you don’t know the answer just let it be.. but it’s more than normal to ask those questions and to try to understand it at least for me it is. I’m interested in those kind of questions sorry that it bothers you but you ain’t going to stop me for asked them or questioning them ✌🏼I’m interested in it. It’s not that I’m struggling with accepting my religion. Questioning it and searching for the answer is a part of the journey yess I lot of stuff are un clear to me and yess I’m bothered about it because it doesn’t make sense for me. I don’t understand why god would punish someone for not believing in him meanwhile it doesn’t benefit god when someone believes in him and what is the point of free will if you’re going to be punished for meanwhile you don’t hurt anybody with it? Bye that point you’re saying that god would punish everyone because they don’t believe? I don’t believe that so yeah but I will make sure that my question will be answered. It’s easy to say just don’t dig in it. I have heard this for years my teachers told me this every time because I always had many questions they say when you are questioning to much it will leads you away from the religion. That is not the case nor the right answer when someone is question certain stuff. I’m confident in my religion, and I know there is a right answer to understand it. We shouldn’t be so insecure to ask questions regardless what it is... I’m searching for it and that should be fine.
