Yea its a good city BUT real estate prices are honestly so high you may as well live downtown san Francisco. 700K for a POS property that will need remodeling.

Arlington is such a small part of the northern Virginia area. You'll get more for your buck by moving to Fairfax County

Hi new subscriber here 🙋🏻♀️ I would really love to hear your thoughts about what Arlington will be like once Amazon’s new HQ2 is established :)
@AskAWalker
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for subbing! We're all wondering what will happen when Amazon is fully-established in the area. To be honest, I don't think Amazon is going to have as much of an impact on Arlington as it will Crystal City, the Northern-tip of City of Alexandria, and Fairfax County. When you consider that Arlington is already one of the most expensive places in the region, Amazon employees would have to compete with individuals who already have great jobs and incomes. Plus, Arlington is already built out and land-locked. City of Alexandria will continue to build-out all their available land in the area which will push Amazon employees into Fairfax County and possibly Loudoun. Thanks again for the question. Onward, AW

Is Arlington a Diverse city?
@AskAWalker
3 жыл бұрын
Hi @Shellie Slack , Depends on what you mean by diverse. Since Arlington is so close to DC and several large employment bases, the area attracts people from the entire globe. Here are the stats from City Data (askaw.us/3BHAiYf): 61% - White 15.6% - Hispanic 10.2% - Asian alone Hope this helps with your research. Parts of Arlington are more reasonably priced than others. But you're right that the cost of living is much higher in Arlington.

great video sir, i'm from Peru and moving later this year for Georgetown MBA. I hear many students from GT live in Arlington. Would you recommend something closer to campus ?
@AskAWalker

The reason many people choose Arlington is because prices outside of the city tend to be slightly lower. Aside from price you'll also won't to consider your lifestyle. Do you plan to spend much time in the city outside of school?

This video was very insightful! I'm moving to the area & wanted to ask what other cities are close to Arlington? I've heard Bethesda, MD is one? Any common others?
@AskAWalker
3 жыл бұрын
Rather than focus on cities, we typically suggest our clients use the place they will be commuting from as a starting point. Once you determine where you will work, determine a maximum commute time to find areas that meet your criteria. Bethesda is sort of close to Arlington. Washington DC is right across the river. Arlington is in Northern Virginia. The neighboring county to Arlington is Fairfax County. Fairfax County isn't a city but more like the largest suburb ever created. Since you said city, are you looking for a city lifestyle?

Is Arlington dog (pet) friendly? With lots of dog parks or open areas around? We are moving from Rock Mill, SC to Arlington in next few months with our 2 fur babies
@AskAWalker

Arlington is one of the most pet-friendly areas in Northern Virginia with 10 dog parks spread across the small county foot print. You'll be hard pressed to walk around Arlington after 5 pm and not run into dog owners. Let us know if we can help you with your transition to Arlington.
