I’ve been using the Blink cameras for a year or so and had no dropouts or issues with batteries. I think wireless security is definitely the future of home security as they are so easy to install and can be placed in locations where it can be hard to find a Ethernet or power jack.

Honestly this is ideal for my inlaws just to save the upheaval of cat5 cable and my time. At home during lockdown i installed unifi cameras and the protect system. Granted its a chew sometimes to wire them in in silly places however they have been bullet proof. I only have 4 so does my dad at home. The local pub is 20+ cameras. Its horses for courses..... and down to the application and the install location

I have been using this system about 2 months. Seems ok but there are issues. 1) It keeps asking me to put passwords / serials in and when i am away from the property. i don't have them 2) Does not seem to record whole events 3) The gauges show battery will need a charge soon from 50% when i first go the cameras 4) There is sometimes a dropout on the camera furthest away. 5) who else has access to my images, recordings, sounds, location etc. I don't want to be part of the world network. Good overall

They should have a post and pre record feature, most event recording camera systems do, if something triggers the event recorder there would be a five-second window that would record before and after the event, hopefully this system has that feature

@@westwasbest The problem then is that the cameras would have to be recording all the time, and as Alex pointed out that would significantly reduce the battery life, so I don’t see any system like this being able to implement that. @LowLevelJet Photography They can still phone home without DNS, they can connect via IP address. Set you up a PoE switch on its own network, put cams and NVR there. Block all internet access at the firewall, and vlan it off from talking to other networks on the switch - or its own port on the router, whatever. Then you grant access TO the cams and NVR from another network where you can watch the NVR, or VPN in and watch from your phone from anywhere.

I’d double check the amount of reviews because they bundle the camera system into all the reviews from the other cameras. You have to filter them just for the product your viewing. This was the case a few weeks back and I couldn’t find any reviews. Recently they have separated them out to their own review which has 200 not 1500. If you look at the newly released ezviz easy life grey camera which is similar looking. That’s been bundled into the 1500 reviews so it look# like it has 5 stars but when you filter them out there are no reviews for that camera as it’s new. Pretty shady

Japan has high humidity (60-90%) and high temperature in summertime (35C+). The first camera gave up spring 2023. It seemed to have humidity inside. After drying indoors the picture became slightly better but not good. Today I noticed camera #2 had the same problem. The cameras are specified IP66. This can for sure not be true. Do not recommend these cameras for outdoor use in climate with high humidity and high temperatures.

I liked the review. But NOT the title of the video. Not EVERYONE is buying this system. As far as I am concerned It's badly flawed. Magnetic camera mount's seem nice and handy but they are next to useless when it comes to someone taking one. No matter how high you place it. Battery life is meaningless when you don't get the "BEFORE" or "AFTER" event recording. These wireless systems are neat....but that's about it. Not any good for REAL surveillance. And at £299.00 I think they are ripping consumers off. You can make a system like this yourself for less than £40.00.
