Since no one else seems to notice this, I'll point it out. The market share that graph is referring to is Client market share. When it says Apple has 59.5% of the market, it means Apple's mail clients, not iCloud email. When it refers to Gmail, it is referring to the web gmail client and the iOS and Android apps of the Gmail client. I have a gmail account, but I access it through Apple Mail on my iPhone. This would be reported under Apple on this graph, despite the fact that I'm using the gmail service. Gmail is still very dominant in terms of the service people are using, it's just that most people use the included mail app on their phone to access their gmail account.

I think the main issue with your presentation is that you confuse the Gmail client with the Gmail email (or Google account). As an email I think it’s safe to say that at this point in time everyone has one, so they’re quite safe in that aspect. As a client though, it doesn’t really matter which you use since they’ll use your email data from the email that their hosting for you anyway. The Gmail client is just there as the default way to access your inbox, I personally use the Apple email client, just because it syncs well through my devices. But confusing that and saying that people are switching to Outlook because of more storage, that’s not a client perk, but an email hosting service perk, and I’d be highly sceptical if people switch their 15+ years old email addresses just so they can have a couple of GBs of storage for example.

Interesting point to mention forced adoption, and also have Apple be on top of that list. Apple is exceptional at one thing: marketing to the average consumer. Their service is equivalent, and often times, worse than their competitors. Gmail's UI is also pretty questionable.

he interpreted that data wrong. his market share graph is referring to is Client market share. When it says Apple has 59.5% of the market, it means Apple's mail clients, not iCloud email. When it refers to Gmail, it is referring to the web gmail client and the iOS and Android apps of the Gmail client. U can have a gmail account but access it through Apple Mail on the iPhone. This would be reported under Apple on this graph, despite the fact that u could be using the gmail service.

Ironically Hotmail got combined into Outlook, so I can use my old hotmail account with outlook. I think back in the day Outlook was just an external (personal/business) email server creation program, while Hotmail a part of MSN was a client end email service (usually used through browsers at the time). So Microsoft basically did the same thing google did, but with their services focused on email. I think Outlook still does have it's features from the past along with having the Hotmail style email client for browsers and the app for smartphones (which for the latter gmail also has).

But it just always logged me into the new gmail account for whatever reason and I haven’t had access to the old hotmail for YEARS. I did some digging and by all I've seen Gmail users outnumber iCloud users by almost 100%. Based on that I assume it is reasonable to think people are ditching using their iCloud clients to manage their Google email accounts. The wife has one such a setup in her iPhone because she was previously a Google user. And in any case I doubt all those email accounts regardless of provider are active anyway: since they're required in order to operate their phones to the fullest users just create an account and forget about it afterwards. It may be just me but seldom I have seen a person using their phone's email. Save for my physician who promptly emailed me some lab results.

Microsoft does not provide support for individual accounts either. For domain accounts, google is actually better as they control the entire platform. Where as anyone can provide an exchange mail server and therefor support, or lack there of goes though that individual provider, which could be Microsoft or it could be a guy in his basement down the street. Working for an IT consulting company, I have had to support both systems for our clients. If there was a problem that I needed additional support on, Google was far easier to contact and get resolution than for a Microsoft Exchange system.
