Actually Haiti never paid the debt, like Weimar Germany after WW1 they defaulted on it and never paid, Haiti is poor today mainly because of Haitian dictator Francois Duvalier embezzling over 41% of the country's GDP and because Haiti in the 60s and 70s took out so many foreign loans to try to build it's economy it destroyed it's own credit to the point other countries didn't want to give it any money.

My guy they wasn’t Dominicans at the time, they also used Haitians as well who fought for the freedom. It’s why the leaders were terminated by the Haitian people. Haiti enslaved everyone in the island to pay off the European debt, Dominicana did not fight for their freedom from Spain, Haitians freed the entire island. It wasn’t until after that the people on the east decided to separate because Haitians started to do the same thing the Europeans were doing. Which I do not blame the Dominicans at all for going their own way.

This does show that reparations can be paid though even though this was definitely in the wrong direction. Most of Europe is still benefitting from their colonial exploits whilst the countries they stole from aren't. Any time you mentioned reparations, they say oh it's too difficult and you can't expect the every day British person to pay for something their ancestors did. Yeah obviously, but you could actually have just have payments like this and also not call it Aid
