Jane, our jade expert with over 30 years experience shares her feeling about treated/ fake jade with us and tell us a little bit about some things you can do AT HOME to tell the difference!

Four types of jade:
Type A: Natural, untreated, undergoes a traditional process, no "artificial treatments", "true" color.
Type B: Chemically bleached to remove impurities, injected with ploymer with the use of a centrifuge to enhance translucency, covered with hard and clear plastic like coating, subject to instability and discoloration over time because ploymer gets broken down by heat or household detergent, still 100% read jade with 100% natural color.
Type C: Chemically bleached, dyed to enhance color, subject to
discoloration over time due to reaction with strong light, body heat or household detergent.
Type D: Simulated, not jade(Quartz, glass) made look like jade.c
