Sry. I was torn whether to do this video now or AFTER all the other videos post, but it is going to be so obvious they were made in the first 2 patches, especially since they are adding even more RNG into these new patches from what I read (something like 10 new items).. so I decided it was best to post this first and let people know why all the upcoming videos are now up to the latest patch and also more of "just for fun" videos. Maybe I get another text from the guy on the TFT team who texted me before set 10 was announced and tells me they are doing a reverse for set 12. I thought I was done in set 9, but ended up finding set 10 was enough of an improvement that I played it through.. but this one was just next level bad IMO. Thank you so much for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed the videos!

That's something I didn't even get into in this video, b/c I couldn't really edit it together well. I have seen more people angry in games and screaming about how bad this set is than EVER, usually using very colorful language. So when I tried to add it in, the video would out with BLURRED NAME said BLURRED THING. But, I feel like there is wide dissatisfaction with this set, I just hope Riot gets the right message from it if it is true.

Even though I agree this isn't my favorite set. There's no winning with this playerbase and game. Which is honestly barely the communities fault because it's understandable. Less RNG and specialized augments/portals makes every game feel the same with the same direction and same comp. More RNG makes more games a luckfiesta with little input of individual skill. Less powerful abilities makes for boring champs and comps with pure statcheck gameplay removing the whole autobattler aspect. More powerful abilities makes some champs the best option for multiple comps and a cornerstore where if you don't hit that you might as well give up on your comp. (usually tanks like Jarvan set 9 J4) More freedom and combination in terms of comps feels like you never have a direction to go in and every game ends up in you pivoting to another carry or frontline. Less freedom and combination means that the moment you hit a specific champ there's only one comp to go because nothing else fits and you're probably competing with 2 other people for a specific comp.

I agree with a lot of what you say above.. but I think you could say the same of any fanbase of anything... and this was part of what I cut out in the Star Trek comparison. You never going to make everyone happy. I always go back to set 6.0 in my head, b/c it accomplished all tasks really well. There were LOTS of different comps that could win. Deciding on which comp to go was based on RNG in that you got some random items and random champs in the beginning and then a set of augments. Based on those 3 points of data, you could choose what looks like the best direction (AP, AD, TANK, etc..) and b/c the augments were mostly not trait specific (exceptions being the crowns, souls and some that would only really appear if you were already building that comp).. so, for example, you were highly unlikely to see Chemical Overload if you didn't have Chemtech's on the board (It may have been impossible, I don't remember exactly).. but I don't think there was a comp that you couldn't make work depending upon items/augments. There was a ton of strategy and planning involved, but it didn't feel the same b/c the potential comps varied widely. I am sure there are people who hated set 6, b/c they liked the luck elements much more, but since set 6.0, I watched even the lower luck based sets (like 8 and 10) add in more and more RNG each time. I couldn't get through 3 weeks of 9 before just being done with it.

I don't see how they could balance it, since it relies so heavily on hitting that 4 cost 3 star. Those champs are MEANT to be finishers, similar to a 3 star 5 cost.. a rare thing you hit in some exceptional game. And again, this is mainly for Hyper Roll, but when you are guaranteed to get to level 10, the odds of rolling 4's and 5's becomes so greatly increased, along with augments like shopping spree and prismatic ticket, it becomes a near guarantee you are hitting a 3 star 4. Which I why I have seen games where EVERYONE in the top 4 has their own 3 star 4 cost. As for Mort.. yeah, I agree and I've always thought it was a bad idea to have the lead game developer doubling as a KZitemr.. it's one thing to go on and describe patch notes and talk about changes, it is another thing to actively be playing the game live... it always bugged me and it is why I never tune into his streams.

HI think it's important to recognize that everyone has their own preferred way of playing a game, and it's perfectly fine to take a break from it when it's not enjoyable. Personally, I find the most enjoyment in playing TFT with my friends. While I agree that the RNG can sometimes feel frustrating, I'm still interested in seeing what new features or updates the game developers will offer in the future. However, I do hope that they will prioritize improvements over expensive cosmetic items.. ❤

I always wished they had TFT as part of "custom" games. I didn't really like playing Hyper Roll with friends b/c I don't want to step on their build, but sometimes you end up with one of those augments where you have no choices left. I used to play with my wife and kid sometimes, but it was so hard to coordinate not stepping on each others build and then I felt bad if either of them went out before me b/c I know it costs them points.

I really loved set 8. Bunny MF was cute and seeing star gurdian Lux wiping out enemy team with a huge shinny beam was visually entertaining. They were all lv.4 champs. And because we could finish building our teams, it was fun. In the recent set, I often get knocked out before fnishing my team building. Can I try 6 ghostly team? I may be able to put 6 ghostly champs but ending up with putting lv.1 high cost ghostly champs and get kncoked out befre those champion turning to lv.2. It is really frustrating to see rito putting more lv.5 champs in the game. This eventually makes us take longer time to finish building, and often makes me unable to see either team comp was bad or my luck was bad.

This is a result of them pushing out to 10 instead of 9. When it was 9, pretty much everyone (unless they just had horrible luck) got to assemble their full team, but now, often it is only 2-3 players who get to level 10, so you need to have the luck ahead of time.

I can speak personally I've been subscribed but haven't been consistent with your videos because I can just tell you aren't enjoying it and in general enjoy watching positive things more than negative, and so others might be feeling the same way. I hear you and that might be true as the set went on (beyond the first week), but I saw the difference from the very first video on this set. I also hated Set 9 pretty much from the start, but had the fairly consistent 50/50ish split between current subscribers and "new viewers." Based on some stuff I may or may not have (I had a conversation with someone who CLAIMED to be on the TFT team), I don't suspect I will be playing any future seasons. I think that is ok, this is why I like tft in the first place, when a new set arrive, it always mean a new opportunity, new fun tft things to try and if I don't like it, just play another game. No one can force you to play something you don't like lol

So.. the reason I did this video is b/c I have a TFT channel that some people rely on for builds, information, etc.. I don't claim to be some big influencer and have often referred to myself as the LEAST influential TFT KZitemr. If I was just a regular player, I would just stop playing. but I felt I owed it to the people who do come here for builds, advise, etc. to know that the future videos were all done in patch 1 and 2 and there will not be future videos about this set or possibly TFT... b/c it has become far too easy mode... and by that I mean there is no thought involved.. just get lucky with portal or augment and get an easy top 4.. or get unlucky and don't. If I get a sage or dragonlord emblem.. easy 1st or second. If someone else gets its.. they are 1st or second. You don't have to adapt.. just ride the wave till 9, roll and hope you hit a 3* 4 cost in 9/10.. that's not "adapting" or "pivoting".. that's just hoping for lucky. As for Star Wars, I loved 4, 5, 6, Didn't mind 1, although I thought Jar Jar was a bit childish, but overall liked the movie, thought 2 was kinda dumb, but the last 20 minutes made the movie worth seeing, 3 was absolutely unwatchable. 7 was just a complete rip off of 1 with different characters, so far too predictable and dull. Thought 8 was actually good, b/c it broke all the "rules" and while it had some really dumb scenes, I forgave it. Never bothered seeing the last one b/c I read that they decided to bring back a long dead character to try and undo the actual interesting things that were done in 8.. so yeah, didn't waste my time with that. Didn't make a video about why I wasn't seeing it either.. b/c I didn't run a star wars KZitem channel.

What I hate about this set is the damn RNG, if you're like me and you don't much luck in your whole life, when you're doomed, you can't almost never top 1. Plus the encounters, what a sh*tty thing they added, I don't see the point in this, It's just messing the whole, plus it can unbalanced it, helping some and others don't. And of course, since the beggining of TFT, the top 1 thing I hate de most: Carousel, always, ALWAYS, when I want an item or champ, there is ALWAYS someone that pick it before me, it's so stupid and annoying, it's literally a game changing. Not sure if you caught my latest videos, but IF the person sending me texts is to be believed, RNG is going to be a MAJOR force going forward. They CLAIM to be on the TFT team and have texted me 3 times from different and anonymous phone numbers, but the other 2 times they were correct and told me things way ahead of official release. I've known you since set 6 because then I thought oh Hyper Roll was pretty cool, it kinda 'saved' my time and I WANTED TO WIN. I eradicated my valuable time and a lot of chances in my life just because of some cool game mechanics, and I found myself exactly the same as Daniel in Detroit Become Human, "I just want all this to stop". I'm kinda surprised we both agree that set 6 was the best season yet, and the fun lingered till set 7, set 8, though like I said the time I played took away my quality time. I wasted my energy just for small competitions with the addicted small-brained guys and got beat up by the smarter (and luckier ones), the feeling is exactly the same as in the trading sessions, so eager to win and so insecure. Anyways, if you come up with any different kinds of contents (like K-drama or games) I can consider to keep being in your audience. I don't think I'm smart enough to ever play competitive online video games anymore, I'd rather have myself involved in the real competition in life, like having another language certificate.
@AutarchTFT
4 ай бұрын
I WISH I could learn another language... I am always amazed at people who speak more than one fluently. I have close friends where English is their 3rd 4th language and they speak it better than I do and I've been learning it for over 35 years. I'm truly not sure what to do with the channel.. I would love to do something with Kdrama, but there are so many Kdrama channels that seem to be corporate run b/c they do full reviews of shows the day they come out (or even before), meaning they are getting advance screeners or assigning someone to watching it all day and then write up a summary... I don't think my "hot takes" are going to be very interesting or insightful, beyond.. "Well, I liked it." Like, I'm watching Ghost Doctor now and.. I like it. It's not earth shattering, but it is fun. That ONE Kdrama video I did took me hours to put together and while I enjoyed doing it.. I realized it would be hard to do that regularly. Going wider gaming.. you run into the same problem.. SO MANY channels that do it and I lack the time to properly immerse myself in a game long enough to offer a real solid opinion. Time becomes such a huge factor. I can say I loved FF XVI, FF VII Rebirth is meh. Diablo IV is kinda meh and God of War Ragnorak was awesome, but this is hardly new info or not covered by hundreds of other channels. TFT Hyper Roll was such this neat little niche... I could play it in spare time (often while doing other work), then V.O. the videos later and it was really fun when it started, but much like your experience.. it started to wain. I really thought set 9 was the end for me.. but they dragged me back in by texting me. Which I WISH WHOEVER THAT WAS WOULD TEXT ME AGAIN HINT HINT HINT TO THE TFT EMPLOYEE WHO WATCHES THIS CHANNEL. LOL. Maybe I will figure something out, or someone will want to buy the channel, the account and be the new Autarch.

I can't forgive valve... I only get games from Epic, GoG or other sources. I had video on it on the old channel, but I think I deleted it b4 I sold the channel. Long story short, they sold a game that was completely broken (Basically, you just logged in and sat in endless queues to get into matches and would then get kicked out of the matches b/c the servers weren't working). I put in for a refund, which they refused because I had "played" for more than 8 hours. I explained that I spent 8 hours waiting in a queue and pointed them to all the people saying that the game was broken, etc.. they still refused the refund.. I told them I would have to charge it back on my credit card and they said if I did that, they would cut off all access to every game I ever bought through them and erase all progress... So, I charged it back.. they cut off all access to my account and I charged back every game I had bought within the previous 120 days (the maximum I could do for fraud)... deleted Steam from all computers in the house and now no one uses steam. Had a similar incident with Sony once.. they at first made the same threat, but when I escalated it, they called me, apologized, refunded the game AND gave me a $20 credit as an apology for messing up. Thus, I maintain my PS5 membership.. but will not use a valve product. It just sucks when there is a game I want to try on PC, but steam is the only option. I could get Baltro on my PS5, but then I can't record it b/c I took apart that set up.

I'm gonna be nitpicking if you don't mind, and before anything else, know that I'm a fan of Hyper mode and you are the only channel in YT that have this content that I know of (Maybe some channels are out there but I like your grit and being truthful about the game). Now let's begin with the quibble-niggle; 1. How come you uses your channel as a metric if people are playing the game or not? Correct me if I'm wrong, you are only playing the Hyper Mode before you goes to hiatus (as stated in the video). This mode only consist of only 60% of what is the normal game would have in terms of encounters and augments. The only logical reason that I could think of why you hit the down low on this set in terms of views is that you are right, some of the encounters in Hyper Mode didn't make sense, and so if your content is consist of this nonsense mechanic in the game, viewers rather watch the game in its full potential and instead watch content like Boxbox (just an example), take note that not only the guy is funny in his videos, he is playing the game at the highest form of the game, which is the ranked mode and in challengers. And his editors makes all his games as if they are in Hyper Mode in terms of length. 2. Auto-chess or auto-battlers whatever you want to call it is RNG first then strategy second. Hence the mechanic "Auto" in it. If the game is just called "Chess" that is pure strategy. The very fact that if a unit is facing another two unit there is a 50/50 chance to hit the other makes it so much of an RNG on the get go. The only strategy you are providing is how you place your units, how you arrange the very scarce and RNG given items, to choose the right augments given by random number generator. More RNG in the game can give it longevity because it is gonna be a hit or miss on the combo or exodia that people are cooking, if they can't hit it, might as well try another match. Do you want to know why Riot is doubling down with the RNG? Because many gamers dig these rouge-like mechanics. That's why they even introduce it into Arena, the RNG of augments in Arena is what makes it hot right now. Even other indie games with rouge-like elements in it is the hots of the gaming industry right now. If rouge-like elements isn't for you, Dota Underworlds I think has less RNG. With the changes in TFT, I bet some of its player base might quit if they got hit with the randomness, but people are different to one another, for example me, I've been playing this game from set 1, and I loving it more because of the randomness. Like I said, people are unique and has different taste. With the introduction of more RNG, the population has exploded. (from Reddit). 3. Monetization of the game, I don't hate it, I don't love it either. Good for me though, before anything goes Gacha, I've already got my staple Dragonmancer Yasuo and the "Sanctuary of the Ancient" arena way back when it is introduced, after that, whenever I got the battlepass, the stuff I got there can't beat my tacticians and arena in terms of aesthetics so I don't bother buying the BP anymore. But the way Riot is marketing TFT is in the right move. This is a "TRIPLE A" company, so to make this "TRIPLE A" game not die and stay afloat, to make the developer develops more sets, to make the designers designs more skins, they need monetizations that targets whales, Genshin players don't seem to bother their Gacha system. Also just think of it in a bigger picture, RIOT is a company the relies monetization from their other game for their "other games" which is LOR. Legends of Runeterra has no means of floating itself up, only by these other games that it still holds relevancy. Not to mention that these is the same company who produces Arcane, great songs and OSTs, climactic story telling videos, books. Not to mention their upcoming games, they need to make the money go around for them to make these awesome projects. Also, if you don't like these gacha schemes, that is your answer, your not the demograph for these aesthetics, there is always a bigger fish in the sea. 4. "And while I will not dance with Kobuko, I feel the new players who are coming in like this kind of stuff", you are spot on. That is how Riot markets the game to new audiences. This is not about the old players anymore, the old players has their own staple tacticians and staple arena already (like me), except if they are streamers who always need to flex those new skins. What I mean is that the OG players stop buying cosmetics a long time ago. That's why they need new players to try the game and who knows, some of them might be whales, then it's a win-win for Riot. I just think that you don't like it but I have a tip with this one. You only need to drag your tactician near Kobuko and it will dance automatically. And I don't think this is just nonsense encounters it has mechanics behind it, 1`I believe that if everyone dances with Kobuko the loot will be gold (correct me if I'm wrong). These encounters are just minor socialization, because nowadays nobody uses dance emotes anymore except if they are BM'ing. My favorite encounter of the game is the Tahm Kench, it reminds me of Whack-a-Mole and target shooting in Valorant. See? It got relevancy from another game even by a bit. If that reminds me of Valorant, then it makes me want to play Valorant later. I think some of the encounters are just superb, it gives the game more spice, even if some of them need some tweaking. Sorry for the long post, I believe I need the story telling on my end because I'm a complete stranger to you so you have atleast an angle on what I'm talking about or trying to say. But you pretty much said it yourself that YOU are the one who is losing interest in the game surrounded with so many randomness so when I realized that, it has now leaves a bad taste on my part writing these, but I've already done it and I have to convey it so that you might as well try to see in our perspective, the way I/we loved the RNG of this game. Know that when I type Hyper Mode in the search bar, it only shows your content and some that I've not known of, so if you leave Hyper Mode or the game altogether, you will be missed. Good luck on your future ventures, Bro.

It's all good.. I love a good dialogue and part of me wanted to make a video response, but I always find that annoying b/c it feel so onesided, like I am trying to get people to agree with me. . so I apologize in advance for the long post. #1) You're correct, it COULD only be Hyper Roll that is impacted.. I don't know. I used to play ranked (obviously) since I have been playing since day 1 alpha, but once Hyper Roll came out, I switched over and then in sets 6, 7, 8, only played maybe 20 ranked games.. just enough to get to gold IV to get the reward for the season. I don't know how things are playing out in ranked, but based on other videos (see NomseyDiff's latest), the dissatisfaction with this set seems to be beyond just hyper roll. The only stats I could draw on reliably were from my own data and I found it interesting that views are down AND most of the views I am getting isn't coming from people who are subscribed, so it suggests to me that a large group of the subs stopped playing or watching (either is possible).. but it had been fairly consistent for several sets, so I found it interesting. It's also hard to compare to BoxBox who is more of a streamer who happens to have a KZitem. I believe he plays nearly full time on Twitch and then has editors who make KZitem videos from his Twitch content. (I could be wrong). Since I am not a streamer, I am only making KZitem videos from games I record.. many times playing the games while doing other things (which is why I can't stream, b/c who would want to watch a stream where I pause for 15 minutes between each game, or mute the mic for 2 matches b/c I am on the phone). #2) TFT was the first (and only) auto battler I ever played and I have found the reliance on RNG changed drastically with the season. Set 1 was heavily RNG and I accepted it as such, b/c it was new and different. Set 2 reduced the RNG with the elemental hexes. You could start to craft a team using the hexes... the hexes influenced how you would build, what units you would take and what comp was going to be more viable. This reduced the RNG and gave the player more of a sense of control of their own destiny and despite the fact I was shocked I had to re-learn the game I was enjoying, I ended up liking it 10x as much as I liked set 1 and thought this was a great direction. Then along came set 3 and I played very few games in 3 or 3.5, b/c they suddenly took away the thing I was really enjoying. (this was all part of the video I deleted b/c it got too long referring back and forth to the Star Trek movies). However, when set 6 came along, (from my perspective) I felt.. THEY GOT IT!!! RNG had SOME impact, but it was minimal. This is why set 6.0 was my all time favorite. There were so many viable comps and what you had to do as a player was sus out, what champs do I have, what items have I gotten and which of these augments will enhance those two things and then play into it. Now, was it possible the comp didn't materialize, absolutely and that was part of the RNG.. but I saw it so much more like poker, where it was 70->80% skill and realizing what would work. I also questions the reliability of the data on RNG only b/c a lot of that seemed to come from the jump from Set 2 to Set 3 and I think the jump in players from 2 to 3 had nothing to do with the set and everything to do with the timing (set 3 released nearly simultaneously with Covid lockdowns and so millions and millions of people were stuck home with nothing to do). But, I could also be 100% mistaken and more people like more RNG... but more about that in part 3. #3) I have no issues with how they monetize and have actually given Riot great credit for putting out a FULL game that is not pay to win. Now, would I like them to give ME the ability to shut off the ending animations? Absolutely. I don't want to take away the animation from the people who want to see them.. but forcing them on others just feels childish. However, my point was that there may be a relation between the Gacha style of rewards and their pushing further and further into fully RNG driven mechanics and gameplay, as one attracts the other. I started Genshin and then quickly quit when I realized the ONLY way to succeed is to deal with the Gacha and I don't like pay to win games. With Riot turning towards the Gacha style for rewards, they attract players with different attitudes towards games and thus are maybe picking up an audience who wants more RNG and less strategy. It all seemed to correlate.. set 9, which was so RNG based I quit after 3-4 weeks is where they introduced the Prestige skins and Gacha style rewards. I was also a 100% reliable battle pass purchaser before set 9.. however, I stopped and it wasn't b/c of the Gacha style rewards.. I didn't care about the rewards, I bought the battle pass to support the game, but I was not supporting set 9, which, to me, was an abomination only out abominated by this current set. #4) As for the encounters, I don't participate in any of them for 2 reasons. First, I find they pull you out of the game, planning, etc. Second, i don't WANT the additional rewards for me or anyone else.. it's just more RNG. So when I see them, I often alt tab away until I hear that it is over, which is why my little legend just sits still.. I sometimes heard people spamming pings, clearly annoyed I am not participating. It had gotten to the point that I was starting matches deafening everyone b/c I didn't want to see or hear complaints about me not participating. This was only a few weeks into the set and I realized, it was time to be done with set and probably this game entirely, since I feel as if the quality of the game has been declining since set 6.. now I felt it didn't go straight down. I didn't like set 7 at all, but it was playable, thought set 8 was good, but not as good as 7.. 9 was unplayable... 10 was playable, but worse than 8, 11 even more unplayable than 9. (again, this is according to my personal taste, which is all I can ever speak to).. so I fear that 12 will be worse than 10, which means I don't want to participate. I didn't post this as a screw you to Riot.. it was more because, as you mentioned, I am one only of the only creators who focuses entirely on Hyper Roll (There is also VNHyperDiceTV, but they haven't posted in a month, so I am not sure if they are still playing) and people come to the channel for tips, builds, etc.. and I didn't want to just vanish without an explanation.. Further there are 19 videos that are already scheduled to go up every Monday/Wed/Friday into the second week of June, but they were almost all recorded prior to April 20th and I wanted to give some context as to why they are all on Patch 2 and let people know why they will be way out of date and are only meant to showcase specific things and not as build guides per se. Thank you for the response!!

@@AutarchTFT Thank you for the very extensive response. One thing that really shows in our conversation is that you really like the wholeness of TFT, not the sets, the whole entirety of the game because you cared for it. You point out the what you don't like about the sets and the things that you like and I'm with you, contrary to popular belief, set 2 is awesome! I just have couple of response in your response because if I can't response, my brain won't let me sleep. It is short so bear with me HAHA! 1. I didn't know that you are only using your own data to quantify your views because as many people in the comment has stated that you are the only content creator for Hyper Roll, so now it only make sense that you measure it this way since you are the pioneer and now that change my standing on it, Good job! 2. Yeah! Set 2 Rocks! I honestly forget what does the other set do but what I have fun the most is the galaxy one and the other where they introduced "Chosen". I had fun too with the recent set because it has heavy with music thematic. 3. The ending animation is what people paid for, remember when we only got different booms and it was awesome, Riot takes it further and give a "boom" in another form, comes the finisher. Now we know that booms are optional and interchangeable, but finishers are not and this is one of their marketing genius, they incorporate it in the chibi tactician itself, so that way if you don't like this finisher anymore, you will have to buy another chibi tactician with specialized finisher, it is scummy but genius. Because people who owns chibi tacticians can never go back to using normal tacticians with no finisher, that's the addicting part of it. Thank goodness is that Dragonmancer Yasuo's finisher can never go out of style, the very first has still its legendary status until this day. But that never answers your question as to why we don't have the option to skip the animation, the finishers of TFT is the same as ki-charge of Tekken, same as the T-bag of any fighting game. It could be compared to Mobile Legends and CODM's "Kill Effect/Death Effect". This is TFTs way of having disrespect move in the game. But don't worry bro, there is a way to skip the animation, click "exit game". I've seen people do it but I believe that would put more salt in the wounds. I think Gacha style of monetization can never go away because it is actually the most booming marketing style in gaming history, because if you think about it, developers can just sell their cosmetics with just one big purchase but that will overshadow their other "mediocre" cosmetic. Let's be honest here, if I were to choose Yasuo over Poro, I will buy Yasuo in a heartbeat, that means nobody will buy those plain-looking tacticians, but with Gacha style, we have no choice but roll the dice and hope for the best. 4. There is nothing much to say about your point because it is conclusive enough, what I can add to this is that; if they are gonna put encounters in the game, they should make a separate encounters for Hyper Roll since just like you said, Hyper Roll should be faster and encounters is slowing it down. It could be that encounters are only place holder for their next "Encounter" mechanic, what if next time it is "Calamity" where this time instead of giving buffs to the player, it deteriorates the board, just like in set two. It gives plusses and minuses to the units or just the whole board in general so it would give a whole depth of dynamics when placing your units. So it is not as short as I thought it should be, anyways you did say in your video that you have other videos line-up after this. Can't wait for them, have a nice day!

Thank you so much! I just want to comment on point 3.. b/c the ending moves have been annoying me as a forced concept since they were introduced and I was honestly shocked they they didn't include a way to mute them. As I mentioned, what I basically did was if I was in a match against someone with a Chibi with a finisher, I would surrender if I thought I was going to lose so it wouldn't show the animation to them or me or I would surrender IMMEDIATELY upon losing, which would cut it short again, for both them and me. And yeah, it may change my finishing position from 5th to 7th or 8th, but I didn't care.. depriving them of their ending animation was well worth it... and I know a couple of people who had them and they HATED when people did that b/c they wanted to watch their animation. What I can't figure out is why Riot doesn't let opposing players turn them off, the same way I can turn off all chat or mute people's emotes or pings. I used to play SR a lot.. I shut all that off b/c I wasn't the least bit interested in all chat or people using taunt or dance emotes from the opposing team. If players on my team started with it, I would mute them as well. When I first saw those animations, I looked through the settings for a way to shut it off.. and couldn't find it. And while I agree with you that adding them as an option for people to get was genius and I also don't have any issue with the Gacha style of rewards.. the problem is they wind up creating a negative experience for BOTH players when people would rather surrender the match than allow the animation to play. If had a simple "don't show finishers" toggle, they would see their animations every time and I wouldn't care.. but b/c I am petty, I refused to let them. ;)

@@AutarchTFT That's rough buddy, to both parties. I understand your frustration but I can't relate to the sentiment mainly because in our region, it is rarely to see chibi tacticians, on very rare occasion I have fought 3 chibi tacticians (including me so that makes it 4) in a game, but maybe in your region, there is abundance of chibi users that finishers are occurrence every game. I think muting your every opponent entirely should be an option but I believe Mort already tackle this issue and he said that they could do it but it will take more resources for a little pay-off. Also this will negatively affect the sales for Chibis because players who don''t have Chibis until this day will think, "Oh why bother buying Chibis when I can turn the finishers off, It's not worth buying it now since my opponent can mute that specific features off." Also I'm not a developer but in Riot's spaghetti codes, if they tweak one mechanic, the wholeness of it will start spawning bugs. Let say you did mute your opponent, and he is about enter the finishing animation, but remember you muted him, that could make your screen stay in stasis, you are in your board but you can't move or anything since your opponent is still doing the jibba jabba, they can do the boom animation but booms are only just 1/3 of the finishing animation. But imagine if you could mute that feature but your board won't go gray screen because it didn't alert the system that you are dead since you didn't enter the animation along with your opponent. You could still stay on that limbo for a moment while the system is figuring it out. Because when you and your opponent is about to face, they will connect their board to your board, including booms and finishers, it means to be able to mute finishers, your opponent is muted too and can't see his animation too, and that is without his consent, that could be messy and buggy. Take note that these are just elaborate "what ifs" so take it with a grain of salt. Like I said, so many resource for so little pay-off. But I could be wrong you know, there are instances when animation is cut short is when the opponent surrenders. I think the best remedy for this is to have an "eject" button in the HUD and you will just get ejected out of the game instantly, because it is a hassle to go in options to surrender/exit game.

That explains it. I didn't realize you weren't in N/A. In N/A it is, no joke, EVERY lobby, usually minimum of 2-3 per lobby, sometimes more. Last season I probably would have been near 6000 in hyper, but for surrendering every time I was in danger of losing a fight to a Chibi with a finisher, positions that very well could have been 4th turned into 7th b/c I am petty and want to deny them their "finisher." I also believe only about 10% of what Mort says, especially after it was brought to light how much he misrepresented set 2's impact. While Riot's spaghetti code is well known and apparent constantly (there is a video coming up where I show a bug that has been present for several seasons now that they have never bothered to fix.. and it isn't major, just a small visual thing), but I am sure the time it would take to unravel it isn't worth fixing... BUT, I also know just enough about coding (as my kid is currently developing his own game) to know that when they created this feature they had to CHOOSE to show it to both players and at that point, they could have chosen to show it to one, both OR add a toggle for either one. adding a toggle now would be, at most, a 2 day job and that includes testing.. in much the same way you didn't used to be able to mute emotes from other people, now you can, as they realized it was negatively impacting too many players experiences. However, the "whales" are the ones they care about and they are the ones buying the Chibis and they wouldn't other people to be able to turn it off. I suspect some time in the future (might be 2 sets away) when nearly everyone has a Chibi and new people aren't playing b/c of the constant finishers, they will do the 2 days of work to allow the finishers to be turned off, b/c they are having trouble attracting NEW players at that point. Time will tell.
