So you basically did a video essay on a music, fashion, cinematography, film, direction, choreography, history, etc. and tied it all together in an entertaining cohesive package that resembles the very rock band your talking about. Excellent work! 👏

The 2 dollar bill performance is so good because it was on MTV when they actually played music on it all the time, they gave us access to a full rock and roll concert and the strokes were brand new at the time and the lofi New York vibe was badass for 2001-2002

I remember watching this gig and it made me an even bigger fan of The Strokes. As a brit and the death of Britpop we were waiting on something happening that wasnt fully taken over by the industry. Us brits seem to take these cool American bands to our hearts before America does. Kings Of Leon are another example of this as they had 6 consecutivenumber 1 albums over here. The Strokes came to Britain and absolutely conquered it and birthed bands such as Arctic Monkeys and changed The Libertines sound after they heard The Modern Age e.p. The Strokes $ 2 Dollar bill gig is just one of these you had to be 5here moments in Rock N Roll. And as a live act they capture what they put on record. Not many bands sound this good live.

The Strokes took Kings of Leon to open for them on some spots on their first ever tours. The bassist of KoL stated his bass style is derived from Nikolai, being a big inspiration in his beginnings.

Firstly, great video! Can I call it a mini documentary? Secondly, I don't think many people realize how important The Strokes were in the early 2000s. In fact, they reshaped the rock scene because, as we all know, at that stage, it didn't have much going on. They still produce great music, and to me, the fact that they never let fame get to them makes them even cooler. They're still a tight band, making good records, continuing to inspire and gain new fans. I'm 39 now, and I still want to be part of The Strokes like I did when I was 17, lol.

My first tattoo at 18 (I was born '96) was the strokes magna logo because I watched this one day and it changed my life forever. I'm 28 now and on any bad day, I can watch the 2 dollar bill concert and it will immediately hype me up and heal me. From being given rock album of the year in 2023, they will be eligible for rock n roll hall of fame in 2026. If it happens I will loose my shit and probably get another strokes tattoo a decade later. Easily thee best rock band of my generation, and I don't wanna hear any lip about it.
