While I agree with you on the matching mounting, I will say I dont think that that would be a total reason to not get tires from the place you shop at. I've mounted tires on rims, matched them and after balancing there was a lot of weight. I spun the tire 180⁰ and balance came out better. Now yes the tire could've had slight issue or variance, but even when road force balancing (which was in spec) it would come out balancing with lower weights after rotating tire on rim. I would say if you look at weights on inside and they are low it "should" be ok. Also some tires have multiple dots on them. I've seen a yellow, red and white dots...all on one tire

I didn't know this. Thanks for the information. I'll check my tires next time i'm in the garage as i get my tires at a well known, major tire company and have them mounted there as well.

A lot of tire techs are never taught this. I went to boces as a high school student and wasn't taught this until I was in college, and most tire techs don't go to college for it.
