Thank you Lewis. I attended one of your courses during the 'Covid Period' and it has served me well. I still enjoy watching your videos and helpful abstract art approach.

The sketchbook practice I learned in your Abstracted Landscape course and that you describe in this video has been transformative for me. When I make anything that I can crop a smallish piece from, in whatever media--even textiles--I paste it into my sketchbook and often do some writing about what I learned in the process of making it and other ideas it prompts. This practice gives me that satisfying feeling of "finishing" pieces, which helps me stay motivated and has given me a wonderful record of my art-making. It all counts. Thank you.

As always, thank you for sharing your work and process. I am struggling with abstraction - I just cannot create something I am happy with! I watched your video “How to Abstract the Landscape” - the sea, seawall, boats, rope, etc. I see you silently sketching away. But what is going on in your head - how do you translate what you see into your marks on the paper? What is the visual source for that shape or line? Or am I missing the boat (no intended pun) because it all comes from the heart with a quiet mind? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you this video and these thoughts. I agree with your point about having no hierarchy regarding size of the works. We can express, learn and share ideas with all sorts of materials and sizes.

Hello Lewis! I like how you experiment and develop your oeuvre. From live landscape energetic marks sketching to sketchbook's "extractions" visual ideas series, to small and big paintings. Trying to communicate your ideas through different scales and textures. Each painting is a facette of the whole! It's like breathing with the landscape, with the ocean flow.
