This dancing seagull is doing the rain dance! Dancing for worms, or "Worm Charming", is a hunting method exploited by some bird species to mimic the vibrations produced by rain drops by tapping or stomping/stomping their feet in order to lure worms to the surface to feed upon. Worm charming has also been observed in other clever birds such as robins, thrushes, blackbirds, and even some species of wood turtles. These smart Seagulls display this hunting behavior to satisfy their carnivorous diet while inland. This strange animal behavior is also known as "Foot Paddling."
