I think Fagioli can be the key, he is the most technical player after Barella and plays as the metronome of the team, I prefer him to Jorginho because he has incredibly precise long passes. I think they’ll play as a 3-5-2 with Fagioli-Barella as the CMs and Frattesi and Chiesa ahead, Frattesi is so good at making runs in the box.

This is what they did today against Bosnia. Obviously, the opposition was not a top performing team but we saw Spalletti's tactics with a clearer view today. Italy's weakness is that they don't have a reliable striker. Scamacca is not my first choice and Retegui is very green as well. The goals will have to come from the wingers, midfielders, and wingbacks. This means their midfielders have the most work to do during this tournament.

I mean to be fair...having your number 9 being the number 9 of the team that won the europe league is not bad at all.....in previous years we were far worse in my opinion, but yeah of course he is no Vieri/Inzaghi/Totti/Del Piero...but still, i think that if you look at the squad and what they achieved this year and their status generally.....Italy doesn't really have a bad squad at all, and Frattesi has scored more goals per minute with Inter than many strikers in the world comparatevily so....yeah Spalletti is going to leverage the goals from the midfield for sure (frattessi and Pellegrini as attacking midfielders are actually perfect).

@@AhmedAdel-oq4fk I worry for them if they are going with a 2 man centre midfield, and one of them is Jorginho, holding in a 3 maybe but he is far to slow and weak to play in a 2, it will literally be like a knife through butter when the other team runs at their midfield. Di lorenzo I do not rate tbh.

Bro this is not how they are going to play. They have been experimenting a lot so its difficult for youtuber analysis to get up to date information. But you might want to make a new episode closer to the tournament start because this was tried but they’ve since stated they aren’t going to take this approach. Going to be a more traditional 3/5 atb defensive system. Also, Scamacca has been one of the best stikers statistically in Europe since march. The worry for Italy isn’t the defense or attack(eventho lack depth in attack behind Scamacca). They worry is midfield.

But there were still similar qualities in both games in the way they build up and even with the 3/5 I still don't like em out of possession, the gaps are still too much of a killer I do quite like Scamacca and think Italys tournament does hang on the back off him (obviously) can't wait to see the tournament start with Italy. @@Zedders it is but trust me, Italy is a mess. The issues run deep across the team and the league. A total rebuild has been needed but the European Championship win glossed over the true requirements and nothing was done. Head in the sand. Unlike England which has spent money & time on developing their youth, much like Spain & Germany, Italy has done nothing. Harsh? Perhaps but it's true. @@donaldduck5553 Your argument was "they just about made the tournament" and i told you that that, doesn't mean anything, not only because in qualification and group stages Italy has historically struggled...even when they had baggio, Totti, Del Piero, Vieri etc etc....but also, this is really a revolutionized squad with a new manager, they struggled to qualify for the tournament, with the old squad and old manager, so all i am saying is that, you really don't know, and neither do i, but to act like you know for a fact that they are going to do poorly based on the qualification is not very wise.....and also, you saying that they didn't qualify for 2 world cups, really doesn't mean as much as you think it does, because last euro they were off of not qualifying for the world cup, but with a new squad and a new manager they won the whole tournament...... Also, yes, what you say about the players might be true...but also could be not, depending on the point of view i guess.....first of all...there is pace, even in defense, Bastoni is not terrible at that for example but also Gatti, Darmian (as a cb), Cambiaso are not that slow of players, and that's good for defenders, DI Marco is not the fastest compared to other wide players but has pretty good feet, we do lack Udogie that sadly is injured, but El Shaarawy is plenty fast, same as Chiesa, and Frattesi is fast as well. Techically as you said, the midfield is as good as it gets, same actually in defense, some of the best feets in the squad are in defense (DI marco, Mancini, Bastoni to name a few) and of Course Jorginho, Barella, Fagioli and Pellegrini have all very good feets, then....not much physicality you say...that might be true but, the defense is very very physical, and if push comes to shove, Cristante in midfield is always there, and also in attack Scamacca is a big guy, speaking of, yeah the attack really has been the achille's heel of Italy...since probably more than 10 years ago, since Balotelli left...that being said as you said , Chiesa can be the difference maker, Frattesi has a biggest gol to minutes played at Inter (and in the national team) ratio than most pure number 9s in the world, Pellegrini is very capable of scoring tons of goals or assist, same as Barella, El Shaarawy had a very great season and he has always been the cluth man for Roma for 3 season in a row at this point..not sure why he wasn't called back in the national team before....and having a very in form Scamacca is great, how many other national teams can boast to have the number 9 of the team that just won the Europa league?...definitely better than Immobile when Italy won the Euro in 2021...who at that time even if he stil scored a lot of goals at Lazio, had never really won anyting that major at club level in the same year, and Retegui is a great substitute, who had a great first season in Serie A (and that always seems to score against the biggest teams, while struggling to score against smaller teams, so as the tournament progressed that might be crucial) So, you see, you can, if you want, also look at the glass half full....the only problem is...that i fear this team has not great chemistry yet, and them and the coach didn't had enough time to build it up as much, something that, the other top national teams had waay more than Italy (and that is only mancini's fault to be honest who left the national team right before the Euro in the middle of the qualification process). So, could they struggle big time like you said? absolutely, but to sit here and pretend that is an absolute fact, to me is really too early to say, because we just don't know...
