Jacob Marty returned home after college to take over his family's farm outside New Glarus, Wisconsin. Inspired by a quote from Aldo Leopold, the newly named Green Fire Farm - a sixth generation Wisconsin farm - seeks to produce food and remain profitable while also providing wildlife habitat and mimicking natural ecosystems. In this interview, Jacob (joined frequently by Ronnie the ram) describes what motivated him to return to his farming roots, why he doesn't see other farmers making similar transitions, and what opportunities he sees for catalyzing more grazing and regenerative agriculture in the Midwest.
