The attempts to reframe Paris as a misunderstood figure like Marilyn Monroe are very troubling. Like sure, let’s ignore how she’s been openly racist and denigrated women who didn’t conform to a white supremacist patriarchal beauty standard, because it was all just a character she played on TV, righhhhht?? 😒

Plus, she had to be pretty horrible because didn't her grandmother or someone tell her to quiet herself down and act right or she'd be disinherited? And she seemed to disappear after that. She's always been horrible. She even talked crap about her bestie Nicole Richie. She was used to being the star at that time and she seemed to jump on anyone to build herself up. Also, did we all forget about Paris' sex tape? I think she might be jealous that she isn't more famous while Kim and her family became ultra stars for some reason.

Paris Hilton has BEEN a horrible person. Now that she's married and having a baby, she's trying to rebrand into a nice, motherly type. She's been quiet long enough that most people will forget about all the stuff she's said and done. Including her saying the n word. And now that slim bodies are trying HARD to be popular again, it makes sense that Paris is coming back again. However, I still don't like Kim, so I don't care much about HER, specifically, but it seems like the only reason "curvy" bodies became popular was because of the kardashians and I'm kind of tired of them, somehow, being the leaders of what is in and what is out. And since they've gotten rid of their plastic surgery or whatever... that shouldn't mean curvy bodies should be "out" again.

Remember how mean she was to Nicole who had a regular, STILL VERY SMALL body?? That was supposed to be her "best friend" too. Paris was raised by a demon but she knows better, she needs to do better.

Curvy bodies have only been praised by black/brown culture so when white standards ruled, yea, and curvy non poc were called FAT and shamed all our lives too. My nonna clocked every bite that went in my mouth. "If you eat that, you'll get fat and nobody will love you". An actual catch phrase of hers. Love her but she was vain. She grew up malnourished in the depression. Of course she was thin. But that didn't matter. When my waist got to 18 inches, she was mad and put me on a diet. I still hear her when i eat ice cream 🫣. Things changed in the millenial period, when hiphop took the mainsteam stage. The rise of that to the mainstream is what allowed jlo or Kim to even be a thing, not white media. Now that standards have been influenced (hello bbl) body types like coi leray and jeasie reyez are openly shamed. Somebody is always catching the short end 🤷♀️

Blk women aren't the only curvy women on planet Earth. Blk women do not own curvy bodies; nor are non blk women who are curvy trying to look like blk women by being curvy. A lot of blk women are very self centered to think that everything is about them.

Bit of a topic diversion but I wondered if Doja Cat’s weight loss was also a part of her crossover preparation to pop stardom which tends to require closer proximity to whiteness. When her popularity was rising through rap/hip hop music, it worked to her advantage to be “juicy” but she lost weight as her mainstream sound and her visuals became more experimental. It’s admittedly hard for me to picture Doja doing what she’s done musically and aesthetically with her “Juicy” era body. Women with that body type tend to get pigeon holed in certain genres it seems. The racial dynamics with Doja are another layer. I guess the only connection I’m making here is that Doja also seemed to gain more industry legitimacy as she lost weight.

She also has a white mother and is attracted to white men who typically prefer thinner bodies. I’d be willing to bet she has always wanted to be thin but didn’t have the discipline (or money) to do it before.

@Eclairee-id4fj this! I love this so much about black people. There's just so much less anxiety and shame surrounding food and size. I grew up in an Italian ballet studio. Toxic ain't the word. I know girls that sustained injury, passed out, etc. because of diets and lack of nutrition. Worst part is we were kids and our white parents supported this and often were the ones putting us on these dangerous diets. I can still hear my Nonna telling me the package says 2 cookies and if I eat 3, I'll get fat and no one will ever really love me. I was endlessly called fat and my body looked like Chrisean's old track body. Strong legs and butt and flat everywhere else. I was a size 2 and that was "an adult size", teens shouldn't go above 00. My Ninna put me on a diet. I watched my brother eat like a king and I'd get endives and nuts. I've worked really hard to overcome these eating issues and self image issues and I owe a lot of that to black people for fixing me a plate and NOT watching me eat it ❤ seriously.

Not actually "revolutionary" for white women if you look at some of the white women in the 40s and 50s -- Mae West; Jane Russell, Jayne Mansfield. The standards changed in later decades, particularly due to the influence of Parisian fashion on US culture in the 1950s
