It took me 5 years trading full time. 10 000 trades. Now I can grind out 1 to 10 percent a month. I was a slow learner but persistant. I have to win. Or i don't eat. This is the mindset you need. Burn the ships!

Just noticed how little views you're getting. Wow! You definitely deserve more. One of the only channels I'm aware of that shares this kind of a perspective on trading, really appreciate it. Myself I'm on year 5 of trading/learning. Still haven't broken even, close to blowing up the account again in fact. So, I'm having an internal battle on whether I should continue the grind or start looking elsewhere.. There comes a point where you think about all the money you've poured into this and whether this will ever pay off

We definitely don't seem to play the KZitem game very well! I'm very grateful for the views we do get though, to me it still feels like a lot. 5 years is a long time to not be seeing good progress. If you're close to blowing up the account, it sounds as though your risk management may be an issue. Are you aware of any particular triggers that lead you to overtrade/risk too much? There are approaches for overcoming those, but it takes time and effort (which most people don't have the patience for, to be honest!). But might be worth a try before giving up. Sounds like the thoughts you're having are very rational considering all the time you've put in. - Nicholas

This made me think about the time in elementary school... It was math and everyone got a passing grade on a test but for me... Like how can that even happen? I was average then... I was broken, sat in the first row after that, from the forth... Then started getting better in school. In high school, I was the best-graded kid in my class... And now I'm about to finish college for mechanical engineering...

Something I've found over the years, the people who are developing the best with their trading are often the most self-critical and don't give themselves enough credit. Not sure if it's a personality trait or just part of having a realistic perspective, but it definitely tends to be the case! - Nicholas

Yet another great video, and timing for this subject is perfect from my perspective...I am exactly at this point, on average breaking even for last couple of months. I do have periods of time when I'm profitable, then I enter loosing streak, and again recover from losses. Funniest, and at the same time most frustrating part is that I know exactly what I need to do. I do have a tested, positive expectancy strategy and now it's just the psychology of live trading that I need to work on (or train). Took me two years to get to this place and at this stage I know that this is just a matter of time before I will start to make a profit. I get so far without any trainings , or mentors, but I really start to think that having the latter would help a lot in times like these. It's not even about technical side of trading, but more about psychological aspects / having somobody who been there/done that. Again, thanks for video. Been following this channel for a while now (on my other account), and in many aspects (especially the trading psychology) this is the best channel about trading on YT. Fantastic content, hosting and production. Well done! Best regards Pawel

@@Duomoinitiative Hi Nicholas, many thanks for your reply. Patience, simple as that. From my point of view patience is THE most important factor once you get to the point where you have your tested, profitable strategy. I work full time, so I needed strategy where I can set my limit orders and walk away, so for me trading is 5% analysis/setting orders/trade management, and rest is just constant state of waiting. Waiting for my orders to be triggered, then waiting for the trade to either hit the stop or go in to profit. Once in profit again waiting for trade to develop - I trade FX, and depending on the market condition my trade can be open anything between an hour to even weeks (I believe two weeks was the longest trade I had). And again you have to wait patiently, fighting the urge to close it while in profit, trusting your analysis. After all this time I came to the conclusion that you can't just learn to be patient, you have to develop it. There is no shortcut, your brain must go through this over and over again until you find this peace of mind and simply "don't care" about single trade. I don't care anymore if price miss my entry by a pip and goes my direction, I don't care if I lose or win this one particular trade, I don't care that I missed this one oportunity, and finally I don't care if this week I have lost or made money.. Only thing I care about now is to follow my process. And guess what? I'm finally slowly moving in to positive territory, I recovered from 20% loss in my personal account and now I'm 10% in profit, and finally I managed to pass one of those "funded account challenges". Gone are days I was opening three trades a day, now I have two - five trades a week. Apologies for long reply, but it's nice to share this with someone like you, who understands what we traders go through. As you probably know this is a lonely journey and vast mojority of people are simply not interested in this. Again, thanks for you videos - you really helped me to get to this point Pawel

Make sure you're not trading with real money if you're still developing. Take a step back, analyse the data from your trades and figure out what areas need work. For most people it's going to be risk management. Create an action plan that involves deliberate practice for each of the areas you're struggling in and take it slowwwww for now. I'd recommend investing in a simulator, it's crazy how quickly you can develop weak areas that way. - Nicholas
@1up869

I agree, also i think many developing traders set themself up for failure by having expectations or even demands on profit from trading while going thru the first years. Dont push profit targets, push learning targets, so that greed/desperation doesnt effect risk management

You need to cry a bunch!! lol. Without real money involved you won't get past that. I wonder what the research would be on the emotional curve. Like how long it takes to settle down.
