Columbus has a better zoo, Cosi, town center, parks, university, water park, etc. Plus, Dallas is very materialistic. Some of the friends I’ve made here make 30k and are taking out loans and credit card debt to buy Range Rovers. Looking like you’re wealthy, whether you are or not, is important in Dallas. Columbus is a place I’d rather raise our children than Dallas. Our children will be more humble and have better priorities than if they attended school in Dallas, private or public.

I recently researched the top cities for an IT job (I am starting to work on my CCNA) and Columbus came up in the Top 5, so I am starting to research on the city since it was probably the most affordable city on the list and I currently live in the Midwest (St. Louis) and I love having four seasons and the Midwestern architecture. I've got to say I'm going to be actively researching IT jobs in Columbus throughout my education. Thanks for this video!

Andy, I have viewed your videos and really enjoy them. After graduating from tOSU in 1977, I moved to Oregon to live and work.Even after retiring to a gentleman's farm in rural Polk County Oregon. I find myself homesick for Columbus often. You do a great job pointing out all the benefits of living in central Ohio and if I were a recent college grad, I would move there in an instant. The quality of life and the affordability speaks volumes. Awesome-- I hope it works out for you. I moved from Columbus to the Bay Area 20 years ago and for me it's worked out great-- I know my salary here is much higher than it ever would have been in Ohio and when I retire I will have paid off a house that will be worth a lot. I love the diversity of California. With that said, we are considering retiring in Columbus in 5 years. We could live really well there and be able to do pretty much anything else we want like travel, etc. I also think it's an easier city to drive in which will help us as we get older, and we like that it's very blue!

Thanks for the cool video:). I just booked an anniversary weekend there for my husband & I. Was kinda thinking of canceling it bc so many bad reviews of Columbus online so was questioning my decision. Rented an apartment in commons area with balcony from the room. Pictures look nice but...ya know how that goes. Lol. We are coming to do a lot of biking on the metro trails & we enjoy trying new places to eat and I enjoy some shopping. I love going to the beach though so am wondering if we should go there instead but I already booked room. Anyways, thanks for your video.

Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment! Columbus probably isn't for everyone, but we can sure find a lot to do around here. What sort of metro trails are you looking for? More mountain bike or paved trails? I LOVE mountain biking so could point you to some awesome spots in that regard. FAll is the best time to visit Columbus IMO!

The Columbus Way's Rising Columbus thanks for the reply. Yeah mountain biking is a total thing in our home. My husband & I have 6 kiddos from age 7-17 (5 boys and I girl) and they all race a 5 week mtn bike race in July around here and our oldest 3 teens are on a mtn biking team with NICA high school & hubby is a coach. For our family of 8 we have 15 bikes😆. So most likely on our anniversary I’ll have my Kona & my husband will have a street bike & his mtn bike. Haha. Which top 2-3 mtn biking trails do you recommend? Thanks! Also do you know if people are mask wearing when on trails or out walking in town? We aren’t into masking up especially outside!! Lol Only when absolutely necessary..just did OSHA training with our employees at our construction company and OSHA says it’s not healthy to have mouth covered all time and it causes stress. lol

@@LadiesofPurposeTV Hey there, no masks on trails. I would say about 20% wear them outdoors. Personally,, I only wear them when required indoors. There are some great mountain biking areas....Phase 1, Phase 2 and Gnomewood are all in the same area near Alum Creek Res and are worth checking out. Some other favorites are Chestnut Ridge locally. If you are willing to travel further Wayne National Forest has some great tracks as well as Bailey's near Hocking Hills. For a long ride, Mohican has a 25 mile ride with some really nice trails through the Hemlock forests. Enjoy!!

The Columbus Way's Rising Columbus Thanks for the recommendations! We will totally look into those trails:). Yeah all the rail trails here in South Central PA I’d say I’ve seen only a few people wearing a mask while biking or hiking. It just drives me crazy when I see someone ALONE in their car with mask on🤦🏻♀️ I seriously can’t even🤣. Can you give any iSight into 250 South High Street? We’ve been looking on the map and it appears to be closer to the crime area of Eastside😳 The apartment looks amazing but I don’t want to feel like I’m gonna get mugged everytime we leave, thinking of booking elsewhere in area...I only have 2 days to cancel it though. So recommendations would be great! Also is Short North boarded up & spray painted all on the shopping places? I was bummed to see that the rioters did so much damage to the area. I appreciate you taking time to share. As a mama to 6 & business owners we want to enjoy our anniversary away and not be reminded of all the depressing news. Thanks so much!!!!~Shannon
