On the one hand, you need regulations in place. On the other hand, if the idea of "financial fair play" is really to prevent clubs from overspending and going bankrupt... how is it exactly an issue if a billionaire "overspends" for the club, if it clearly will not lead the club to bankruptcy, as he has more than enough? What is needed in legislation is a warranty that an owner needs to provide if they spend more than a certain amount that they have the means to cover up that loss, to prevent owners from getting a "toy," overspending... and then getting fed up and leaving the club while it plunges into bankruptcy. Let's be honest, those rules were mostly promoted by the established clubs to prevent competition. Real Madrid have had huge funds and government help throughout their history, but now they don't want competition, so all of a sudden they have an issue with big investment into clubs like Manchester City. I mean, it's just a matter of hypocrisy. Bayern Munich fans go on how Hoffenheim's owner spends too much... while for many years Bayern have built such a powerhouse that they have the means to dry their main competitors of their talent (see the situation with Dortmund). It's all a hypocrisy festival. Arsenal, Real Madrid, and many other clubs were the Manchester City and Chelsea of their time, when they were just starting, and yet now their fans think they have the right to look down upon Chelsea or Manchester City. And no, I'm not having a go at Arsenal (I do dislike Real Madrid for their fascist ties), I'm just stating it how it is. If UEFA existed in the 19th century, it would still be the Old Estonians competing against the Royal Engineers for the FA Cup. I'm a Sunderland fan, but I honestly felt sorry for Newcastle fans when they found out the new owners weren't coming. So instead of the Premier League having another club capable of competing for titles, they got another club fighting for their lives. And just for the record, I have a lot of criticism towards modern football. I think they end of the 19th century and first half of the 20th century were a much more exciting time, because most of the players were local and spoke in the local dialect, and if they weren't local lads, they ended up staying there, very often, and becoming a part of the community for which they played. Now... how many Manchester City, Arsenal, Real Madrid, or Juventus players actually know the history of the club? The chants? The past legends? The whole "community" aspect of club identity is being eroded. I mean, Jordan Henderson has a really strong connection with Sunderland fans... and who else? I'm honestly not sure. However... the times they are a-changing (in the words of Bob Dylan), and we have no moral right to tell clubs not to spend, not to improve themselves, not to be competitive. Otherwise, we'll look like the morons who in the 19th century were raging about some footballers getting paid, and the Scottish FA were so dumb and against professional football... that it led the best Scottish players to leave Scotland and move to England (from which my beloved Sunderland AFC benefited a lot). If I were UEFA, I'd only pass two rules: 1. Encourage clubs to invest in youth football, and the richer the club, the more they have to invest; 2. The more an owner spends, as opposed to revenue, the more he needs to show a warranty that they have the means to cover up for the loss if the club can't turn a profit.

I guess uefa should tighten the loopholes leave things as abstract to prosecute lot of cases because it will give them more room.

What has really made those gaps enormous in recent years is the over-investment by clubs like City, they have spent so much on gigantic squads that you have to spend a lot just to keep up with them and their 100 point exploits. City literally have 2 first teams they can chose from and make top four with either one. Klopp is a miracle worker, but other than that you can only hope to keep up by over-spending, like Chelsea are doing now

This video seems quite biased. You didn't mention the fact that City chose two of the three judges that made the ruling and UEFA allowed it. Also, that much information in the emails that were included in the case was abridged, and it wasn't just names or other sensitive information but full paragraphs. Finally, the part where you address the 'time-barred' issue was very brief and exculpatory of City/UEFA. My opinion is that UEFA wanted to be seen to be doing something about City's cheating to placate the other clubs, without actually losing the money they get from their owners and their stars

I mean sure but what TIFO also failed to point out of City not giving info to UEFA is following: - The emails leaked were hacked and stolen by a hacker that's in jail right now for editing hacked docs - UEFA investigators head are made of board members of PSG, United, Liverpool, Bayern, RM, Barce etc. Meaning UEFA aren't exactly going to be fair here given City are rivals - A few weeks before 2018, PSG were found guilty of FFP and they were investigated by UEFA but UEFA's investigator head is the head of PSG - Conflict of Interest and SURPRISINGLY that came was dropped lol - City felt UEFA aren't a fair board or organisation (which is true UEFA are corrupt) so City might've felt UEFA were playing Judge, Jury and Executioner which is unfair given the board of UEFA
