You shouldn't be able to come here and take houses, doctors, NHS spaces that UK nationals have worked all their lives for! And bringing family on "student visas" should be banned ASAP. It's a disgrace. Yes you might want a better life, but we, the UK nationals are paying big time for the MILLIONS that have arrived in the past 10 years. You should have ZERO access to our services such as NHS. If you come here, you should have your own insurance policies to pay for health, dentists etc. That is what we have to do when we visit places like the US. The UK System is broken and hopefully will be fixed!

I don't understand why Nigerians complain about the government, load shedding, infrastructure and education, yet go to school for nothing that is needed to correct the issues in their country. The luxurys you see abroad someone fought for and changed to accommodate the people who were born there. Africa needs roads and infrastructure so wouldn't you as a man looking for work study for this? Yet you wonder why the Chinese jump right in they see the need of a certain occupation they go for it, I call what alot of the African youths are doing (educated laziness) they want to make box nails come in instead of learning to use the nail and build the house. Its not a good idea to leave where your from to build were your not from, change won't change itself. I would rather be needed than be always competing.

Be honest to yourself are you happy with the pressures on the system when you go and look for a house , book for gp or finding a school for your child . Let’s be real here they have allowed too much people in . I lived in midlands and I remember housing agents calling and begging people to come and take their house and rent it but now you can’t even get a house or accommodation or a decent job . I have lived in uk for 10 years , to be honest i have not seen these pressures on jobs , housing bf .Go around and search for a property to rent and see if it’s easy to find a house to rent . Come on I really agree to this cap later when things settle they can change the laws . Africans are always unhappy when their greed and bad ways are cut off. Are you happy with how people are exploiting our brothers and sisters charging them big amounts of money for unavailable jobs and deceiving them to come to uk for non existing jobs . I feel it’s a good step in the right direction for now . It will calm things down . I didn’t even see this when uk was part of eu , speak to anyone who has been here for 8 years and over how things used to be .

Some students are currently going back home after they couldn't pay their school fees and were reported to the Home Office. Imagine making all the sacrifices only to end up this way. t's getting worse everyday. No longer what it used to be about 2 or 3 years ago. Coming to UK now is a scam in my own estimation. If not for bad leadership, no Nigerian needs to travel to another man's country, same for most African countries but we're bedeviled with uncountable artificial problems. So sad.

The UK does not owe anyone anything. I arrived the UK in 1993 and it was very very hard at the time. This generation is incredibly lucky to be literally invited to Britain to work! I can’t believe that people would contemplate leaving this country at this moment regardless of the circumstances generated by the right-wing conservative government. If fact, the previous Labour government under Tony Blair and Gordon Brown were never as welcoming, as this lots in power. If you can, stay in Britain and work hard. Cut your costs of living, avoid competing on social media, stop frivolous pursuits and going to parties etc and build your children’s future. That’s why you are here!

Nigeria’s poor socio-economic performance, human rights abuses, widespread poverty, insecurity, corruption and lack of trust in the political system have led to disenchantment amongst the electorate, especially the youth who make up 51% of the 84 million registered voters. This matters in a fast-growing population of over 200 million, with more than 60% of people under 25. This bad leadership role has been affecting millions of Nigerians, especially professionals and families, and reducing the quality of life for people. Most families who relocate to the UK, etc, are looking for a better life. They want better education and more meaningful opportunities for themselves, but the United Kingdom is under too much pressure now. Houses are difficult to get for people. The rent is too higher now .Waiting lists are long. It is putting too much pressure on the NHS and citizens of the country. Any serious government would definitely put measures in place to reduce controlled immigration. We are a small country compared to Nigeria and other African countries. The cost of living crisis. The overwhelming housing market and overcrowding cities. I am not against Nigerians coming to the United Kingdom, but for now, people should look elsewhere for now. Finding something else to do back in Nigeria or other countries with lesser tough immigration requirements. The millions used to travel here can be channelled into something meaningful in Nigeria. The pressure is too much on the United Kingdom. Stay blessed 🙌

Coming from someone who was raised in Europe… why would y pay 15000 to move to the uk? In Nigeria that kinda of money is a lot so my question if you have that amount to use you can try to build something in nigeria. The situation in Europe is not nice neither in Canada or USA. The difference between the diaspora here and new immigrants is that we have support systems and you will not (initially) especially students. Furthermore the economic situation is getting worse and the uk only cares about getting as much money as it can it doesn’t care about your mental health or if you don’t have any support system. These new laws show you what they think of you. Think carefully before attempting this. The housing crisis and unemployment are really putting pressure on everyone . Its important to have support systems your family and a community. In Europe there is no sense of community its a very individualistic society (especially the uk!!!) I see people always focus on jobs money and so on and they miss mental health sense of community and family. The amount of depressed and mentally ill immigrants I have seen is shocking

The truith of the fact is , it is only small number of Africans who managed to enter the UK, whether legally or illegally would willingly pack their bags and go back to his or her native country because of economic hardships they experience in the UK or because of the newly introduced immigration laws. These categories of immigrants you mentioned, which have included students, healthcare workers and skilled workers entered the UK legally, hence having better chances than other immigrants who entered the UK illegally or overstayed visitors to get their ILR. So, them thinking of moving out of the UK will be NO NO NO. They should exploit their leverages of being legal and having rights to work in the UK to secure their ILR and British citizenship.

Anyone already on the pathway before Mar 11 is not affected even if you change employer and your dependents will switch with you as long as your job code is still same. If your code changes, you will have to meet the requirements of the new code.

If you get band 3 sponsorship after march 11 as a nurse assistant with NHS, you occupation code will be 6141 which may be classified as a skilled worker. If it is so you have to earn about 38,000 to be able to be sponsored which NHS doesn't pay that for band 3 except there are exceptions for NHS staff.
@OlasupoHajarat

@@IjeomaIzuwah okay, thank you. I saw this online. Those coming on the Health and Social Care Visa route will be exempt from the £38,700 salary threshold applied to skilled workers, so that we can continue to bring the healthcare workers that our care sector and NHS need. We are also exempting education workers on national pay-scale occupations.
