To those who say this is a waste of money: It's not like they got a big pile of money and set fire to it. It's money being spent on American industries, paying American wages, and making America the place where scientists want to come to. It's reinvesting money and furthering our scientific understanding. There are certainly worse things to spend money on.

@@thor.mukbang The US does not lack economic opportunities; the country has the biggest and the most robust market, yes, even more than China. But the Americans seem so concentrated on public affairs and poverty that they hesitate to spend on new technologies and research. both public affairs and new tech need to be invested equally well. Recently, India made an outstanding achievement in space technology with the lunar landing. China is also quickly catching up. However, many Americans think that investing money in such programs isn't as beneficial and that it's a waste of time in the long run. But it is actually NOT a waste of money or time in the long run. If I were the POTUS, I would not hesitate to spend the country's budget on education and new technologies. The US must be on top and not fall behind in other countries like China or Russia. So, to your questions, people in poverty can also benefit from the new tech industry by getting hired and interested in this new tech. I am not sure about your last question, but direct funding is necessary for any space-related industries and agencies.

Her reply probably refers to several mentions in this video of our planet's evolution and or saying evolution dating back 4.5 billions years. If I'm remembering my facts correctly... Our sun's annual solar flare reduces its diameter by a known amount. By adding this annual known diameter delta to the sun's current diameter has the sun overlapping the earth about 300,000 years ago, which puts me in the young earth camp. 🙂@@Violent_Combustion
