Asian parents: "I don't yell at my kids, I use slippers to fix their heads."
@otakumangastudios3617
2 жыл бұрын
I'm really sorry that that was your experience with having Asian parents, but it sounds like you're really just trying to deny the fact that they were just crazy in the head, which they were. It's likely because they had refugee mentality, which a lot of the trauma that comes with being a refugee and or an immigrant, leads to being a bad parent. My father's side is Eastern european, and they're worse than the stereotypes of Asian parents. All the while, pretty much every single family I know where at least one parent is of Asian origin, dang those children had a lot happier of a childhood than I could ever imagine. No weird family dynamics, emotionally intelligent parenting, couldn't be me

@@N2O_The1000thElement there are far better ways of teaching a kid not to trust a stranger. Also, while doing this, they are probably teaching them not to trust their parent. Since they're gonna expect a besting when they do the slightest thing wrong.
@N2O_The1000thElement

@@aarya1107 this is if they found out that their kid actually went out with a stranger after being told not to trust a stranger good or bad because we can’t distinguish which is which, even the chance of you encountering a bad stranger is 1/1000 it will most likely happen if no pro caution took place, I know because there was this one time of me walking home from school(I was in 7th grade at the time) and a guy on a motorcycle parked next to me asking do I need a ride, even though I was tired and my home was roughly 1km away or 2/3 miles away, I told him “my house is right over there” pointing to my friend’s house and then he looks around, sees my friend and his sister at the front door and promptly left. That’s why these lessons that Asian parents teach are so important, If I was nieve at the time this took place probably I won’t be telling this to you now

And not to mention you guys don't seem to appreciate me. So yeah, I'm going to FEEL like I'm hated by you. Honestly parents, don't you see how some things can seriously affect your kids? I deal with self hatred and low self esteem thanks to my parents. I know others have it worse, but I really just don't get why parents don't stop and listen.
@TheMrpeejoe

@@Stars_ShatterSysAlso some advice as well 1. Imagine this. You get your grades in the mail and you show it to your mother. You get an 86 in everything. She yells at you and brings you to the low form of self esteem. Your mother does not know how to get you to improve yourself, but she knows that you can do better. 2. Know that your parents appreciate you because it does not matter whether you see it physically inside them. A mother/father's biggest treasure is to have you in their lives. 3. When she prays, you don't know she prays for you to have a good life. 4. (Read if you have been in a sports team) Your parents are right. If you are hated on, they wouldn't show up to a game. I was once like you. I felt like my parents hated me because I had decent grades. I felt like they didn't love me when I wanted materialist things. Because at my local church, a priest gave a homily on Thanksgiving that just broke me and changed me to being a more good person. You should be grateful that you have parents in your life because not everyone has a same aspect of life. I understand if you came from a family of personal trauma. You don't have to agree with me with this.

Most parents do that to their children including mine, and we all feel like this when they treat us like that. But keep in mind that they are aggresive and can't calm themselves down, which makes them like that because we make mistake that make them mad. They also do that because they think we are so "ungrateful" when we don't listen to them. So if you don't want to treat you like that, you can try listen to them or do the house chores. I told them that and they don't listen, they just made fun of me. That's parents, they want us to be what they want to. I hope this helps. Stay safe you people ❤

Some parents have such a big ego that their kid telling them how they can be a better parent is an insult to them. They probably think “how dare this little shit tell me how to do my job?!” I once remember being told to always say please when asking for something. Right in front of the family as we were having lunch. My mom wasn’t scolding me she was just telling me that is it the polite thing to do. So then my dad just orders me to get him something from the fridge. I stood up grabbed the thing and before I walked back and gave it to him I said “you should have said please, I already learned how to” I was not trying to be mean, sarcastic or antagonistic. I was like 10 or so at the time. I just thought ok my mom (an adult) is telling me to do this so why didn’t my dad say so? Shouldn’t all adults follow this rule also? The face he gave me afterwards like “how fucking dare you say that to me?” I can’t remember what happened next but that face like I insulted him or hurt him in some way. Fuck you dad.

When my parents yell at me it's always when they have no reason to yell at me, I was just trying to be nice and everything...also they've yelled at me a million times for no reason that I'm always in my room now cause I'm too uncomfortable to be around them and they think I just wanna be on my phone all day but they don't understand how much trauma i have from just trying to talk to them and they yell at me, or I'll try to make a joke with them anf they'll yell at me just to correct my joke😭😭😭

My dad yells at me, not in an abusive way though. He's told me many times that he wants to be patient, but because of how his dad treated him, he's now the same as him. Sometimes I feel bad, but now I feel terrible

You shouldn’t feel bad, you did nothing wrong. That is a terrible excuse he made, as parents, it’s your job to break the cycle of your ancestors for the better. His father doesn’t control him just as he won’t control you. Hopefully we can all learn to break this cycle. Stay strong!

My parents yell and sometimes hit me when I was younger and they still do now, and now I'm 16. I now have very bad PTSD, anxiety, depression, low self esteem and body image, I'm sensitive to everything around me and I get scared quite easily. When I show these emotions and actions, I get yelled at again for showing them, saying that I'm faking it. I've learned how to control how I feel, and still get yelled at for 'being numb all of the time'. Fun.

You are 16 so you can go to therapist without their permission you should definitely go and if they don't stop complain about child abuse . That is not so good of them. It's kinda same with me but i am learning to control my anger and doing meditation regularly because we should not pay for others mistakes .

@@yourlocalenby3096 man that sucks you should try to convince them with proves off your health and some self-medication that's how it worked for me i didn't even got allowed to test my ADHD as i an currently at low age. You should maybe try some meditation and explain them your problems they might not stop doing but they will still reduce doing it . You should say it together with your younger siblings .
