Nice! Glad this video could help. I try to keep these videos short because I'd rather have people write music and experiment than sit there watching me yammer about a plugin. Hope this vid gave you some ideas of what else you can do with Pigments.

@@ThisIsOnesto Yep definitely because you start feeling like you have to become a technician and then do a degree before you can even understand the basics of the plugin when the videos go into full detail which is I why prefer them short to pick the functions fast then to focus on the music

Wise advice,, also if you happen to be a true beginner, you may wish to consider starting with one of Article's great controllers. I picked up a 49 key Essentials board for about $200 and they supplied me a copy of Analog Lab 4 then version 5 and was able to pickup Pigments for about $70. One hellava bargain.!! 😁🎶🎹🎶Play On

What a steal! Buying a MIDI controllers are a great way to get discounts on lots of software. And then from there, you'll usually get more discounts on a big bundle. Good luck not spending any more money haha!

@@ThisIsOnesto Quick question, is there a way to manually enter number values? In most other synths it's a simple double-click, but I haven't been able to figure it out yet in Pigments. 🤷♂

Hey, great question. I just checked Pigments out and I couldn't figure out how to manually enter number values. I was a little shocked about that. What you can do at least is hold Control to have a more fine tune adjustments with the mouse. So hold Control and the knobs will turn slower so you should be able to get the exact value you want.@@neezy.

Love your take on Pigments. Short, but very useful tutorial that inspired me to make more use of Pigments. It has grown into such a monster.

It's hard to go wrong with soft synths these days. But some definitely "click" more than others. Pigments just feels so good to use.

I'm here to tell you, when it comes to effects and synths, Arturia's V and FX Collections blow Reason out the water. I got both at highly discounted Black Friday sale events I immediately cancelled my Reason subscription. But I'll keep Reason because of the Chord Sequencer (that I bought) and for a few of the sounds. But Arturia has sooo much good sh--t! I also bought the Arturia Essentials 88. Nice stuff.

There's a lot to learn for a beginner like me for sure! Btw, what are those panels on the wall behind you called?
@ThisIsOnesto
Жыл бұрын
Pigments is fantastic for beginners. Whichever synth you choose, if you become a pro at one, other synths are a lot easier to learn. And those panels are some sound absorption panels from Output. Warning, they're very expensive, but you can find them here: output.com/acoustic-panels

Hey, thanks for asking! Seriously, it feels good to know that someone recognizes your absence. The short answer is, yes I'm taking a break from YT. And not really sure when I'll be back. The long answer is that in the past 6 months my wife and I had a baby, and I lost my job. So pretty big things to balance out. As much as I loved sharing these videos, the money I make is nowhere near what my family needs to keep a roof over their head. So I spent the past few months raising my kid and getting work however I can. And honestly, it's been great to take a break from YT. I love my son, he's the best. Way better than anything a viral video can give. The YT videos I make take a long time. I hate fluff. I hate when the feeling you get when you watch a "tutorial" and wondered why you don't feel like your question was answered. So I do a ton of research. Lots of script revisions. I make sure my demo are effective at showing off a concept or tool. And of course I edit, edit, edit, so every second counts for the viewer. I tried to make videos and enjoy time with my son, but it's extremely difficult. I would have to have perfect discipline AND there couldn't be any surprises in life, which life with a baby is one surprise after another. It was hard to step back from YT, but now I can firmly say that it was the right and best thing to do for this season of life. However, I don't know when or if I'll be back. I would have to magically get hours of my week back for me to feel confident to make more content. I do hope I can make more videos, but I want first make sure I'm present for my family. Maybe when I do get the time, I'll just make music instead of tutorials. Who knows.

@@ThisIsOnesto Thanks for the detailed response. It's totally understandable that life priorities take precedent over YT. Your "no fluff" approach to producing your content is noticeable by us viewers and differentiated your channel from others. Good luck on your next life's journey and hopefully we will all cross paths here on your channel sometime in the future.

Is it heavy on the CPU?
@ThisIsOnesto

great question. I haven't found it to be heavy on CPU. I'm sure the cpu can spike if you load on the max amount of effects and use very complex modulation. But for the most part, it's a pretty efficient soft synth.
