I gotta tell you I thought you were talking directly to me, because everything you were saying about the Social media Distractions, your phone, email, all the personal things, having no routine each day and just flying by the seat of my pants, its not working....I'm chasing my tail building my Life outward instead of upward and that is exactly what I needed to hear, I kinda already knew it, but honestly listing to someone else tell me what I felt...wow it really hit home and I needed to hear that for real because I have just been running around like a mad man trying to get all this stuff done, several Facebook accounts and pages, 5 Instagram accounts, 2 KZitem channels, 2 pinterest accounts, a Shopify Store, affiliate marketing, emails, and making zero progress for years, and the no sleep thing makes perfect sense, I'm easily coaxed into whatever anymore, I'm always tired and forgetful, so sleeping only 5 hours a night has really hurt in more ways than I could ever imagine. I'm going to do my best to try and get into a routine and close off those distractions, get back into the gym and focus on one business and one social network once a day. Thanks for the Video it may just help give me that kick in the ass that I need to get my crap together. oh and I subscribed and liked this Video. Thanks Sam

You said gym, one business and one social network. That's your '3 Things'. I use that template to pick things I'll focus on when I feel like I'm not being focused or intentional about what I'm doing anymore. The 3 things are usually more long-term and serve as main goals to keep in the background of the mind and plan your energy and effort around.

Never was a truer word spoken. Life tries to pull is in so many directions, and all we do is dilute ourselves and our potential. Finding what you love and focusing on that is a life lesson that too many of us never learn. It is one thing I want my kids to understand. Do what you love, follow your passion and you can make a success out of it. Be dedicated, be focused and be happy.

Everything you say rings very true and this is fantastic advice. I actually already do nearly everything you suggest in the video out of necessity; I'm very close to defending my PhD in a STEM field, and there is NO way to accomplish something like that unless you eliminate distractions and get enough sleep(!!!!!) and exercise so that you can do the deep thinking required. I should add 2 things here: 1) if I would be unable to finish the PhD, I would have to return the salary I earned plus interest, so failure is not an option, and 2) nothing drives home the importance of sleep like the fear that you may get sloppy in the lab because you're too tired and splash a dangerous chemical onto your skin!

I've already been following most of Sam's advice. When my life was in turbulent waters, I closed my facebook account, let all my extra domains expire, took my main website offline and put an under construction page. All for 1 reason only - to keep my boat afloat. Did just enough work from home to keep my kitchen running (only serving existing clients) and read lots of books during those years. It's just yesterday I've made my main website online after almost 9 years. Let's see how it goes this time.

Hi Sam love ur videos. Ive had to sacrifice my sleep in order to build my business. I sometimes go 2-3 days with little to no sleep. Its not intentional but it is the only time I have to work on my business. I am just starting out so there's a lot of studying and consuming of information at this point. I feel the drag of the previous days work getting heavier and heavier each second but I think about my why and it gives me a burst of energy to pull me out of the slumber. I've also found out that if I stand and walk around it keeps me alert and I can stay on task a little better. No its not ideal but as a shift worker I've had to go multiple days with no sleep amd have come somewhat use to it as sad as that sounds, now I'm actually doing it towards something that will benefit me and my family.

Hi Sam. I agree with you. You helped me to clarify things in my life. Due to a wrist injury, my life is upside down, no routines. Now I know I have to be strick to myself. Sleeping is so important and all the rests. I watched a few of your videos and webinar. They are extremely useful and simple. People don't think simply. They want to follow the crowd not to be left behind and are afraid to be different. You think differently and you are different and simple. I like to listen to you. My plan is also to move away from the crowd and write my book how I was sold in the UK but not eventually abducted. My plan is to stay alone for a few months to get the book done. What you say is valuable and crucial to achieving goals. Thank you again for this. Don't care about stupid comments. They are jealous and full of envy. I can't buy your course now. I want to do E-commerce and teach it in Hungary after my book. But it is hard to start because I am injured and rely on my husband's money. I will block out a lot of things now, but I will check your new videos later! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! - Anikó

ehi Sam, very useful video, thanks! You say that you have to focus 100% on the goal, close the windows and the doors. Well I've been doing this for 2 and a half years and now my goal is to stop focusing 100% on the business because I'm losing contact with my friends and my relationships area is not going as it should. Consider I'm 21, truthfully now I want to enjoy life instead of getting mad trying to schedule my time strictly and follow everything perfect because otherwise "I don't achieve my goal". I've been working years for achieving my goals and I know it's time to pause a minute. Right now I know that business is not a priority: my priority is to build better relationships, enjoy life and start opening the doors instead of closing them. I'm in the middle of my youth and 10 years from now I don't wanna recall these moments and say "yes those days I was following a strict routine and I was working hard to achieve my goals". Mhh, that doesn't sound the best option for me right now. I already spent 3 years straight doing it relentlessly but I know now it's time to switch priorities, which are: relationships, love and enjoying life. So does your advice apply to "mature" business people or to young ones as well? P.S.: I'm already enrolled in CA
