I randomly found the Mistborn trilogy on the Dutch equivalent of Amazon one day. I thought the white blue covers were pretty and the concept of "what if the dark lord won" sounded interesting. Best random purchase I've ever made

One of my favorite parts about mistborn (particularly era 2)(forgive my shallowness) is the potential of twinborn. Sure, they're rare, but there are so many potential combinations. And even the metals that might be considered "lesser" can have such amazing uses. For example, wanna breathe fire? Cadmium feruchemy stores breath. But you could interpret that as any gas you breathe in. Pair that with pewter Allomancy so you don't poison yourself on inhalation, a tank of methane gas (or any other flammable gas) and a box of matches, and you can breathe fire. Share a combination with me and I'll find a fun way to use it. I dare you.

@@vincentshin2294 I wonder what you would see if you stored away your entire identity, then burned gold? What would you see? Also, if you perceive the gold-shadow of yourself as better than the real you, it wouldn't be too hard to make your identity match the gold-shadow. Don't tell me that you don't have personality flaws that you would store away and forget about if you could.

**Spoilers** I was disappointed honestly, but I don't think it has something to do with the quality of the book, I was just not the target audience. I don't like plots about revolutions in general because I don't think many authors understand what revolutions are and how they work. Plus, having yet another jesus christ figure bored me, especially if it is the trigger for said revolution. I also don't really care about the revolution if I don't know any normal people that would need to revolt, we should have seen more normal skaa. Skaa are never subject, but object, which is a problem : the protagonists need to emancipate the others, not really themselves from the oppressor.

Totally valid critiques. I agree on the "savior-y" ness of Kelsier, and the repeated plot of "member of the lower class seeks to overthrow the upper class but instead eventually joins them" is a little tired to me at this point.
